Should we get a refurbished TV?

Hi, we are looking to get a digital TV and my husband has spotted refurbished one for what looks like a good deal (we are looking at around 19 - 22 inch in size).
Does anyone have any experience of refurbished TVs - for example how reliable they are and if they are worth getting, or if it is better to shell out a bit more for a new one. Are there particularly good places to look for them?
Thanks!

Depends on where you're getting it from.
Refurbished could be as simple as a shop return that had no packaging, which could be as good as new. On the other hand it could be a repaired item that they're now reselling.Dave. :wave:0 -
As above, + you would need a good warranty.
Not something I would be intrested in unless it was VERY cheap <half price with a warranty.0 -
I know its not the same but I have been for refurbished digital cameras a few times, from the big retailers they come with a one year warranty, in my opinion there GREAT, they have been repaired by the specialists you have to remember, so they are 'like new' there just not new. Obviously each case is different and sometimes its just a gut feeling you have to go on.0

I used to work for fujitsu, people return things sometimes just because they cant afford or dont like.0

As above-all depends on the warranty, you really don't want less than 12m on an item like a TV.No free lunch, and no free laptop0

Hi, I have, at times, worked for a couple of companies who refurbish tv's etc. As stated , they are quite often just unwanted items, the main problem however can be when there is a very intermittent fault that doesn't show up during testing and you then end up with someone else's problem. Make sure you get a full guarantee with it.0

I recently bought a refurbished tv through the tesco store on ebay...it arrived and i was lucky to get 10 mins of viewing before it cut out. I was also not impressed with the way the tv was packaged up - could very easily be damaged in transit.
I cant fault them for their quick refund tho!Total DebtWas £4145.81now £0.000
