When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.

Morning peeps :hello: hope you're all chipper this morning! :D Woke up really excited! Obviously I can't get enough of Mondays! :rotfl:

Today:
  • post off receipt for Auto Aid
  • transfer cash to ds' account (get deets before I leave)
  • spicy tom & lentil soup for lunch, fruit for snacks (am at the office where there is loads of yummy things all the time....)

  • walk to work and not use car today
  • check banks
  • check for surveys
  • book airport parking
  • go for a swim after work

Morning all, thanks for DNMS for starting the thread. How's the career planning going?

    Today I will

    • Charge phone at work
    • Take packed lunch and breaktime snack
    • Print out letters at work and post on the way home
    • Pay cheque into the bank
    • Collect granddaughter for 2 hours babysitting - hope she doesn't cry non stop today.
    • Dinner is chilli that I cooked yesterday
    • Collect my blood pressure prescription from the Dr and get it filled

I've got a manic week this week, out every evening I'm tired just thinking about it. Roll on half term

Hope you all have a great day, I'll check in later

  • Morning all, thanks for DNMS for starting the thread. How's the career planning going?

I meant to start on my CV over the weekend, but was enjoying relaxing & having fun I didn't bother! I actually had the meeting with my boss last week, and have put some things into place with my team so I'm not being overwhelmed by them add this to the feeling positive and I've been enjoying my work alot more last week - but I'm still doing the work - albeit at a slow rate!

    Hola :hello:

Hope everyone has a great Monday ahead of them. Mine is looking pretty chilled from here... work shouldn't be too busy (must not get annoyed with guy on conf cal...), taking a full hour's lunch break, coming home to a relatively clean and tidy flat and having a relaxing night :T that'll do for me :)

    Listypops:
    • Breakfast at home
    • Leftovers for lunch
    • Walking everywhere - was tempted by the bus on Sat for some reason - I know it's not usually quicker - oh the laziness :p
    • Knitting - but not all night :o
    • Email wedding pics guy
    • Light some candles to cosy the place up a bit later
    • Check if e bay buyer has paid...
    Catch up soon everyone!
  • Good morning DFW-land, and thanks to DNMS for starting us off this morning.

Kel - well done on the weight loss. I get on the scales every Sunday evening and I think the display must be stuck as it never goes down. Admittedly it doesn't go up either, but I really want to lose at least a stone, preferably two. :o

Okay, list then - so far:
    • had HM granola for breakfast
    • checked banking - not too bad, but still rent & CT to pay
    • checked for surveys
    • fed and watered chickens
    I will also:
    • take left over casserole for lunch
    • charge mobile at work
    • knit at lunch time to avoid the shops
    • do my 30 minute walk and not pay for a gym
    • work out my February budget taking into account I have another visit to sewing school on 25th Feb :j:j:j
    • all meals from stores
    • have an NSD
I'm not sure what to do about travelling to and from work today. DH's car has the fuel light on, and if I use it I'll have to put diesel in. It's still a bit chilly for the bike..... If I drag him out of bed to drive, he might put the fuel in the car. Yeah, worth the risk I reckon :D:D
Have a great Monday everyone, stitchy x
