IVF Pregnancy Dates??? Confused New Dad???

The 12 week scan doesn't have to be in week 12 or pregnancy. Got to remember that there will be lots of women at 12 weeks and they can only allocate so many appointments, so its done around the 12 week mark (mine was closer to 16 weeks due to them being so busy).

I put in a conception date of the 7th December which would make her 10weeks pregnant tomorrow with a due date of August 29th. Remembering that in a natural scenario, conception happens anything upto 3 days before implantation.

Then it will again get confusing as the scan may alter that date by a few days either way since the measurements they take come from average growth rates for a fetus, and they all grow at very slightly different rates.

So it's all very estimated and not 100% precise.

And if you think you're confused now just wait till later on!

Although a nuchal fold scan is best performed between 11 weeks and 13weeks 6 days. And its only offered in some areas. I you've read about it and not been told that you get one on your area don't be disapointed if you don't get one. You will still be offered the triple test (blood test) at 16 weeks. You can also arrange one privately from many clinics.

Hi we had exactly the same - the scanning department were one week behind what the IVF said. Both said they were correct.

We had a private quadruple blood test at 12 weeks, and no one said anything about this. It may depend on what drugs have been taken during the cycle? I had no drugs whatsoever after I had the embryo transfer. At that point the pg became normal (Whatever that is...lol)

A bit of the old google suggests that a false positive for your triple test results is more likely with IVF pregnancies due to higher levels of HGc. But it's a differnece from 14% to 18% so not that large. Which is why it is probably another area specific thing. I checked with my neighbour and she was offered the triple test (but declined anyway).

Unless it's hormone treatment throughout the pregnancy? Some women get progesterone (not specifically IVF, recurrent MC etc).
