  • I did it!!! I have not cut my hair so have managed to get to my target of 20 NDS's AND 8 NSD's in a row!
Well lets see - I dip in and out of MSE all the time but I still come back - have done since 2007!!!

Friday was a NSD and I think today will be too - unless I get mega tempted online which I won't if I declare it now!

Tomorrow will be a spending day so I've managed 11 days this month!

Been a hard month, I've been ill with 3 consectuative colds/coughs and the last one ended up really affecting my asthma so I've been on antibiotics and finally feeling human for the first time in 5 weeks. This has meant things like food shopping have been a bit all over the place, partly because OH has been doing some and partly because my ability to plan was completely shot, we shopped last Thursday, Friday, Monday and Tuesday for food - which is really bad. Not mega bucks each time but still, a waste of our time for starters.

I'm hoping that I can be much better planned in March.

I only missed my target by 1 day for February which I think, considering, wasn't too bad.

Not sure whether today will be an NSD or not..... I'm feeling very much in the need of some 'comfort foods', but am trying to convince myself that my brain and waist-line will only regret them later :o

May just have to shut myself in the kitchen to try out my new cake mould, as that'll get the research re:quantities of mix done and still give me some junk food to get through later on without the need for a trip to the shops ;)

My 'chap' informed me early yesterday evening that he was hoping to be up to heading over to mine today - and insisted he was going to take me out for lunch, which I couldn't talk him out of of (even though I know he can afford it much less than I can)

But the lunch date is now cancelled and I'm wishing it wasn't - typical female who never knows what she wants aren't I ;)

but it's the reasons for the cancellation that have made me want it not to have been.....

he was in hospital from 3:30am yesterday morning, and was put through a whole series of tests over the course of 12 hours before going home totally exhausted and heading for bed pretty early (even by his normal standards, and he's an early bird compared to me)

but thanks to the inconsiderate resident below him (who likes to listen to music at high volumes at all hours but especially at night - and which ended up with the police being called for the umpteenth time in the last couple of months last night, which means more noise and disturbance) he's not caught up on his sleep yet

spoke to him in the last hour, and he was heading back to bed with his alarm set for around 1:30pm. depending on how much sleep he actually manages to get between now and then, there's a possibility I'll head over to his for the late afternoon/early evening instead.

hoping he lets me go over though, as I really neeeeed to see him to see how he's holding up. he needs to go back for more tests pretty soon (they told him not to book any holidays in the next 2 weeks, and I'm secretly hoping they come through for this week while I'm off work so I can be around for him), but the ones they ran yesterday indicate there's an 80% chance he's got the 'Big C' :(

(I've been more than half expecting this, as I've been looking up some of the symptoms he's been letting on he's been suffering from - but I could also tell that up until the last week he's been a bit reluctant to tell me how bad they were. Even before I did any look-ups the alarm bells were ringing, purely from pamphlets I'd been given to read back in 2006/07)

I know the only reason he's felt able to tell me is 'cos he knows I've "been there, done that, got the T-shirt" with my late DH, but I don't think he's been able to bring himself to tell his parents yet (Mum has some health problems and Dad has cancer) which means he's pretty much trying to cope with taking it on-board on his own. Whilst I've made sure he knows I'm always at the other end of the phone (and that I won't get cross about calls at 2am this week, due to not having to get up for work), I still think some face-to-face time would be beneficial for us both.

So if I'm not around much this next week, I'm either buried under all the stuff I'm supposed to be decluttering while I'm off or over at his 'cos he's not up to being at work/in hospital for further tests. Will continue to tot-up my NSD's and report in as-and-when (will try to keep it daily, but may slip from time-to-time)

BDINI - can you please sign me up for March with a target of 12 NSDs please :)

Know what you mean. Having been really self-controlled most of the time I've crumbled on 3 occasions:

This month I've bought myself a breadmaker, a kindle and a sat nav. I console myself with the knowledge that if I hadn't been trying to save on these various challenges that I wouldn't have had the money to buy them. Mind you, I've had to break into my savings to help pay for the satnav and bm...:o

We can crumble together. Yesterday I bought trollbead jewellry. This makes me very happy but doesnt do my 'pay of the debt' plan no help whatsoeva.

I love my Kindle & Satnav. See you are saving money on books (as you can download loads for free and 79p) and petrol (not getting lost). I use survey and nectar points to get Amazon vouchers for ebooks.

Bad bad me....maybe I need a slap with the wet kipper too. I texed boyfriend when I was in shop hoping he would text me back and say NO but he failed miserably. It's his fault...I blame him....lol.:D
  • cw18 - I hope everything turns out to be fine with your friend :( You are both in my thoughts x

Its only a record breaking NSD 18 for me today :j C'mon c'mon c'mon lets do it!

And I did it, thinking today was then end of the month and there's a day left meaning I might even record break with 19 NSDs and not spend amy money on payday. Now that is a big turnaround in spending behaviour

Counted up my loose change pots now at £109 which I was going to use on car tax and might use for the holiday instead

CW18 - sorry to hear about that. :0(

Finally NSD #12 - went out for lunch today but it was bought for me so no pennies spent :D.

I'm not going to have a spend day tomorrow as I need to put petrol in my car and need to get some milk for work tomorrow as well.
