Just realised I haven't declared for next month. I shall try again for 18 NSDs for March, I think. Having an extra 3 days back next month will hopefully help me to meet the target this time!
Really makes me wonder how many other days I would be spending my money if I didn't have this challenge :D
EDIT: meant to add, I'll make today a NSD so that makes me 14 for Feb now0 -

Have a good weekend everyone! xxTrying to jump back onto the moneysaving wagon .... :cool:0 -
I'm getting a bit tired of scrimping and saving and I'm having to sit on my hands and hide my car keys to stop me hitting the shops.
I know what you mean - it does get to you sometimes, but chin up and resist those shops - it's only a temp 'happy fix'.butdoineedit? wrote: »The only place i have been is to my friends for a shower - the first proper wash i have had since Friday night just before i became bathroomless & it was the most lovely feeling, i have decided i definitely couldn't have lived in the olden days when people only had a bath once a week!!
And there was me thinking that pong was the kippers :rotfl:catslovelycats wrote: »Know what you mean. Having been really self-controlled most of the time I've crumbled on 3 occasions:
This month I've bought myself a breadmaker, a kindle and a sat nav. I console myself with the knowledge that if I hadn't been trying to save on these various challenges that I wouldn't have had the money to buy them. Mind you, I've had to break into my savings to help pay for the satnav and bm...:o
My mum bought me a satnav for Xmas a couple of years ago and I love it - has helped with no end of places I've had to drive to, and is deff far safer than me trying to read directions whilst driving... oh, and has deff reduced the number of 'co-pilot' arguments me and OH used to have when he had to read out directions - which has was frankly rusbbish at :rotfl: Got a kindle from OH for Xmas (so I could use it when travelling with work) and I've got tons of use out of it - deff a good buy. Enjoy them, you've earned them :T
Well, not a NSD for me today. Went to Mat*lan to have a look at mattress toppers for the spare bed - sadly nothing suitable, but I did find a pair of stripy pj bottoms reduced to £3.50 so I splashed out. I can't say I was in dire need of them but they were deff a bargain. Did the big monthly food shop - £135  but that did include 32 toilet rolls for £10, so we won't need any of those any time soon :rotfl::rotfl:
Tomorrow won't be a NSD as I need to collect and pay for the fleabay mower, which means Monday MUST be a NSD for me to hit target (which was looking decidely shakey this time last week!)
Spoony - I now also have a mental image of OH with a big butterfly net saving my NSD :rotfl:Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

Had a quiet stay at home day yesterday, playing board games & chilling out on my last day off, so I've now made it toNSD # 14
~ only 1 to go, which I should get on Monday, if not tomorrow (weekly shop today)
I am a newbie DFW & this was my first month doing NSD & I have found it more helpful than I thought it could be! Alongside working on my SOA & cashflow forecast over the last month, it has really helped me realise just how much I was spending on rubbish in the past! Your encouragement ~ Spoony and the others on this thread ~ has been brilliant & really keeps me motivated. I've come across many forums where newbies are ignored & not treated as well as regulars / long timers, so it's lovely to feel included & encouraged as much as the rest. I can now see a light at the end of the tunnel & a debt-free date sooner than I had hoped (credit card debt at least!) - all based on keeping to a low discretionary spend via NSDs.
So a long winded way of saying, thank you all!:A0 -

I've been thinking (dangerous sometimes) and I've decided I need bit of a break from running the challenge. My job is really busy at the moment and, with everything else, it's all getting a bit much, tbh.
Just wondering if anyone would like to take over for March. I'd be happy to help if needed but I'd like to hand it over for a month to give me a break.
Hope this is OK.
Thanks a lot
spoon xx
Glad you have this sorted out now Spoony, and well done Bdini for taking over p.s. I remember you taking over just after I joined 'to help out' and that was a while ago nowI would have loved to have helped and, prior to October, I would have jumped straight in with my offer, but these days, 'jet-setting' up and down to the country
, taking care of my friend/neighbour after her near suicide and then broken knee, as well as dealing with our debt problems, I find myself spread too thin as it is

But do remember that Feb is 3 days shorter than Jan. If it hadn't been, you prob would have met your target, so don't be so tough on yourself and your achievements this month :rotfl:, with those extra 3 days I would complete my target with a day or two to spare, whereas I am struggling to just make my 15
Well - I've decided to try to carry on this month....
looking back Im sure I've had 7 NSDs so far including 3 in the last 3 days. There may have been another one in there somewhere but I'm not certain.
Best drive home slowly tonight so I have enough fuel in the car to get me to tomorrow!
Good girl - keep plodding on there - never give up and I love the idea of your driving slowly to save fuel for the next day :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Right, Thursday was NSD NUMBER 13, but normal shopping spends on Friday. Today will be NSD NUMBER 14 as I am not leaving the house today, so that leaves me with 1 NSD to get with 2 days to go - should be OKMr 3Dogs 3-7-12

Hello lovely people
,
Spendy, spendy day for me as I thought as we went to Cadbury World, but I will reign it in over the next couple of days.
God, I love my kids so much - but I have to say that half-term is a killer when you have a large family :D:p
