too many packages too little time

Have been on line all night trying to get a good deal out of vodaphone. Called for 36 mins and lost the will to live then spoke to their on line chat. Asked about my upgrade then the guy said i was not authorised to speak about his account so said I would put him on line - went through security and continued with my conversation - doh!
To get to the point, can anyone advise me what to do with the following: 1 contract ends july but eligible for early upgrade with vodaphone. Really want an htc desire hd but need at least 1200 mins - do i have any other option but to stay with vodaphone if i want to upgrade now. Other contract ends in April but is eligible for early upgrade - want to upgrade this contact sim only, reducing it from 15 a month to 10 and give it to my daughter who has an orange phone (so will need unlock that) but want to transfer the number to another account that i have with t mobile. Hope that makes sense.

    Let me try to understand.

You want to end your contract early -or upgrade to an HTC desire and 1200 mins. Vodaphone have said they will not speak to you because its someone elses ("his") account.
You need more info on this, and also they wont do anything for you, only for the person whose name is on the bill. I'd wait, the desire will no doubt reduce in price and it may be more viable but knowing nothing about the contract you are already on nor the handset or time spent on that contract its just not possible to guess at it.

Phones 4u often buy people out of their contracts and you could try there but they may have a limit to how much they will pay off. You'd probably not have to stay with Vodaphone if you tried this.

So your also (separate query) wondering if you can now give a SIM to your daughter instead, but want to reduce the amount your paying on it (unlikely).

Sorry didn't explain it very well .
Contract 1: 1200 mins unltd txts/web want to change phones and get best price(should also mention that we have our own business in case that is a possible) hub wants htchd as he is getting on a bit and needs big numbers!Lol
contract 2: 200 mins 600 txts no web want to keep this number but no longer need contract for me but wonder if it is worthwhile keeping for daughter. I know I can get a 10 pound deal but I want the number and daughter already has new paygo phone. However have dropped present phone down loo so need to put sim somewhere until contract runs out in April( or get 10 quid contract with phone)

You can upgrade (ie pay more) at any time in your contract including getting a better handset- but the earlier on in the contract you do it the more it will cost you to do so. Your husband would need to do this himself if its in his name, they wont do anything if you call unless your name is on the bill.

Downgrading is very unlikely as I said, you can maintain the same contract as you are but paying less is just not something mob. companies do unless they are backed into a corner: ie your about to be made bankcrupt and otherwise would never be paying the bill for example.
    Looks like a new handset.

I did say all that above- not sure if you read right.

You can end your contract at any point. You must pay the balance off though, you can upgrade at any point, you will be paying more per month.

You could try phones 4u to buy you out of your contract but I don't know if they'd give you such a great price as they'd need to recoup the money somewhere....so personally I'd wait for longer to the end of your contract. Check it out but expect the offers to be better the longer to the end of your contract you get.

ok thanks. I think we are going to stay with vodaphone then. Although was considering wether it might be possible to change to a buposiness customer as they have an offer on which ends today and think hubby will get more for his money this way. We have our own business so should qualify for the business tarriffs. BTW they did talk to me on line regarding my hubbies phone - I just thought it was comical that they said they weren't authorised to do so when all I then said was that I was my husband. They also told me that I could upgrade my package and just pay a tenner if i waited 2 days (after listening to what you said this was clearly a load of bunkum). Have decided to go into the shop where we can go through the options and at least speak to a human being. Thanks for all your help.
