check on "vehicle enquiry" what its tax status is....

I did this today and it is described as unlicensed so I'm going to fill in a SORN notice and send it in with a covering letter explaining that it was written off approx 7 or 8 years ago and has been in the garden ever since and throw myself on their mercy.

Then once that's sorted out I think I will put it on ebay - I phoned our local breakers yard and they only offer a free collection service but don't give you anything for it.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!
  • Take the good bits off and ebay them and then take rest down the tidy tip. Alternatively just ebay the whole thing 99p buyer collect, you can't loose. Dunno about the tax situation, if it's a write off I'm guessing the DVLA know it doesn't need taxing.
Nothing to see here, move along.

Ask your son to phone Dvla and ask if it is still registered in his name, if it is, ask them why they never have sent letters regarding its SORN status.

Explain that as they have never brought up the subject he never got round to do anything with it officially.

If not in his name what do they have it recorded as? new keeper?
