Any foster carers?

Hello
I am in the process of becoming a foster carer. I have been doing my training since last year and am looking forward to going to panel in May.

Well looking forward and scared, waited so long for this to start just hoping they don't eat me alive lol

I;m just waiting on some checks to come back, then were sent back before christmas but my SW said they were filled in wrong so returned to be re done, takes such a long time doesn't it.

Just wanted to know if any on here and what areas? :)
The day I had my Beautiful son is the day everything came together for me. For someone so small he done so much and made me complete.

  • Why are you bumping this - it's been less than an hour?
If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.

To keep it near the top. Why are you a foster carer? NO. then move onto another post

    Does it even matter?

No - it just makes you look a little dim...as it is already at the top of this board

I'm far from Dim, I'm new and wasn't sure how it worked as yet.

You look bored going into subjects with no relation to yourself.

Well I'm not sure you'll be a very good foster carer, kids often ask random about many random questions about many random topics and if that is your attitude you wont get very far.

    Can you see me then?

I'm perfectly entitled to ask a question and your attitude is quite frankly rude and abrasive.

You don't need to bump a thread when you have given people precious little chance to respond.
If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.

Ask your question on the Families and Relationships Board, there are a few foster carers who post on there.
    And STOP SHOUTING !
.................:)....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

I'm a foster carer with my partner. We're approved for 5-11s although the last girl with us turned 12 :) We don't have a child here at the moment due to some illness in my partner's family and it would be difficult to manage the frequent visits with a child so we are waiting but I'd be happy to answer any questions although we are still relatively new. We've been fostering for about 2 years and have had three children (at different times).
All of them have been an absolute pleasure - nothing like the scare stories we were fed in the run up.. !

To be honest, one of the main things is to have patience and some of the posting doesn't actually read very polite. Being polite is just as important on the internet as it is face to face.
