Urgently needed - some good advice as to where to put this amount until end of '09 when it will be required.
There is the possibility that access may be necessary at any time before then, although not for the full amount.

As the base rate went up yesterday (from 4.75% to 5%) savings rates will rise in the next few weeks (see THIS THREAD for the rises).
I appreciate you don't want to leave the money earning no interest even for a few weeks (in which case, Martin offers excellent advice HERE), but it's something to bear in mind.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0
