Yes have seen that but it does mention the CVI which I didn't send so it's a waiting game I guess have to just see.

the criteria says 'less' than 3/60
or
less than 6/60 with complete loss of visual field and less than 10 degrees of central vision.

being visualy impaaired or sseverly visually impaired doesnt mean much. the devil is in the detail.

people totally blind in one eye can still legally drive. its about the vision in your' best' eye and not your worst.
ive been told i should get middle rate care, i dont feel i need it.
i do feel i need high rate mobility.
im not prepared to exaggerate things by claiming for middle rate care to compensate for the fact i wont qualify for high rate mobility.
i guess im too principaled lol

It's so hard because you may believe you should get it but then it's down to one person who looks at your case and they decide our fate, not very fair is it/

my case wont even be looked at.
it doesnt matter that my range of sight is less than a 1p coin. the quality is too good ( 2 lines)
my consultant put it wondergully... 'spme person with no knowledge of how it feels to be visually impaire, is sitting in his ivory tower, drawing up the criteria'

How very true.
I'm on lower rate at the moment and they contacted me so just sent it back and I'll wait but I know for sure they'll find some reason not to give it.

I agree. My vision varies a lot. So, I have some days where legally I could drive and others where reading large print (font size 16) is difficult. I have a full visual field and am 6/36 & 6/18 with glasses; but due to the damage that I have, it can make getting around very difficult.

Did you say you get DLA CARE? if so what rate is this?

I get low mobility and care. Trying to get mid rate care as I have other disabilities.

That's the same as me. If they don't do anything with this I'll not try again as it's the hassle of the forms their so,,,,,,,,,, long.

The one they sent me was easy though just tick a box sign and that's it. I'm not sure when they let you know but I won't hold my breath I'm sure their come up with some excuse even though I meet the new rules.
