Hi.
Anyone may know this....
I want to change my broadband provider...but I'm working from home at the moment and a long delay will affect my work.
How long for swapping?
Thanks.

normally at the same time if both use BT wholesale products , same engineer would do both jobs
more complicated if you have gone LLU

You can't do that if you are already on a TT LLU service-you would have to take your line rental back to BT first on a free 'return to donor' (which requires 12m line rental contract), and then apply for O2 broadband-so that would involve a break in broadband service of around 10 days.
Are you on TT LLU or non LLU?No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
Not really sure what this terms mean...
My exchange is here: http://www.samknows.com/broadband/exchange/LSSUN
Actually the O2 guys say I'll need to pay £4?(something) for changing the line.

Your exchange is LLU (Local Loop Unbundled) for both TT and O2.
Is your line LLU'd already by TT or not?
Dial 17070, if you get 'this circuit is defined as 012345' folowed by a series of numbered options (eg press 2 for BT quiet line test) then it's a BT line. No numbered options, it's LLU.
Then I suggest you recheck with 02 making them aware that you are on TT LLU service.
What message do you get when you put your number into the line checker on the O2 site?
Sounds like O2 simply intend to provision you with a new line-there is no transfer charge for migrating your broadband on the existing line, but LLU to LLU is not possible, at least not from TT to O2. You have to go back via BT first for line rental.
Did the line come originally from BT prior to TT?No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
hey I'm also thinking of changing provider, I'm with Virgin but they've been doing "maintenance work" recently, and over the last few days my broadband connection has been frustratingly slow (anyone else experience this over weekend?) and so I'm wondering if anyone can recommend a good reliable service?0

Virgin Media or Virgin National? If you are on VM cable service then you don't have any other options at all until you have a working BT line I'm afraid. No free lunch, and no free laptop0
