Desire QWERTY keyboard query

Hi, i have had a brief hands on experience with a HTC Desire at a nice "3" shop in Bedford. So i reckon i shall get one, of the Sim Free variety.

Of course as soon as I got home, there was one thing i didnt find out about, i am hoping somebody here who already has one can help ?.

I was shown the QWERTY and found i could select the letters quite easyily, although i can see it could be easy to select the wrong characters.

So what i am dying to know is :- if the phone is placed in Horizontal mode (instead of Portrait) is the QWERTY keyboard any bigger ?.

An easy to answer question if you already have one.

i believe it does - my boyfriend had the wildfire and i dont see why they wouldnt include it but someone with a desire could prob confirm this

Thanks, i would just like to confirm it, after we went to the "3" shop, we went to a PC World shoppe (eek!) where they showed us an iPad (for the wife !) it was then i realised how handy the horizontal mode is, of course i forgot about trying out that feature on the HTC Desire a little earlier in another part of town.

I was very dissappointed in the iPad, it seemed to very very slow at drawing/refreshing the screen picture, but this might have been a very poor InStore internet connection.

it does.
If its the size of the keys thats the problem, you can select compact qwerty where theres 2 letters per key and the keys are larger. you just double tap to select the second letter.

Wowee thanks for that Pal, thanks also for the picture that does explain it very nicely, now all i have to decide is which Online company do i give my money too LOL.

What a dummy i am ?, i only needed to go along to the HTC.com website and i downloaded a PDF file of the Manual and of course the question i asked above is nicely explained in that !!!!!!

Bloomin heck, what have i let myself in for ?,
alternative keyboards for downloading whatever next !.

is my marriage going to be safe ?, i can see me spending more time playing with this new phone, which i ordered a few minutes ago !, than i spend with my missus !!!, she wont like that at all LOL.

although i do like the idea of being able to take it to bed with me !. oop's thats done it .......
