Hi i took out a loan from Wonga which was due to be paid back on 16th February 2011 it was originally just over £200 and i would of owed neary £270 with interest, today i got paid my usual money and borrowed £15 from to pay it back as i thought if i paid it back that i would be able to get another straight away as a friend had - i thought if i got one for less it would be less interest, however after paying the loan back i am now getting declined and so can not apply for another which has left me with nothing.
My credit is real bad hence using them and i have no nappies for little one, we have a bit of food but not much and dont know what to do - i have tried one or two other companies but have been declined too

Sounds like they have done you a favour. If you are that short, then borrow the money from family or friends or sell something.
I would suggest you post over on the debt free wanabee boards as you need to stop relying on these loan.
Payday loans are meant for one off emergencies and not to keep borrowing from them for the long term. That's how so many people keep getting into a mess by keep taking them out one after the other or keep extending them.
You may not want to hear it, but use it as a wake up call, get posting on the debt free wanabee boards and start to get yourself sorted.
You're one step away from a complete disaster at the moment, don't go that step further.0 -
i understand this and originally took out to get a new clutch for car, i wanted to knock it down completely and thats why i repaid them but needed shopping as well so thought i would be able to do a cheap shop and only have to get a small amount from them this would be easier to repay and then i would of been free of it but instead it has backfired.
I do not have family apart from my partners brother and the only friend i do have is not in a position to lend to me at the minute, unless i sell tv i dont really have much to sell - the computers not mine to sell and my phone i would probably have to pay them to take it is that old
oh what i mess
i am going to head to the debt free board as i have been reading for a while on there and have already started on tackling my debts0 -
Yep Wonga have done you a favour, at least now you can't get trapped by them."We want the finest wines available to humanity, we want them here, and we want them now!"0

Take a look on Old Style too. If you have anything in your cupboards at all food wise, they can tell you how to do wonderful things with it.
There are people on there who can advise you how to feed your family for next to nothing. As others have said, you have an opportunity to break this cycle of needing to borrow at extortionate rates. Good luck!0 -

We have some bits of food that should last until monday/tuesday time its just nappies - gonna raid the copper jar and take it to self service if have enough, i will have a look at the website you mentioned though as always looking for new ideas
Thank youall i know what your saying is right
just hard to deal with at the minute0 -
Forgot about the old style board.
Not uncommon for people to offer members food and other small items to assist people who are local to them.
I can see you are determined to get yourself sorted out, so good luck to you.0 -
Please do break the cycle!!!
In the past I would use buyback (like pawnbroking) and it just means you have less money when you get your salary the next month and I would use it again!!
Sometimes I could have done without the money as felt I needed it! (retail therapy etc.)0 -
So you took out a payday loan and paid it back?
Good for you.
How have you been "Wonga'd" though?
AFAIAA they are short term loan solutions? Not designed for long term borrowing?0 -

I understand they are for short term borrowing however when i first applied they refused only to tell me a few days latter i could be accepted - the reason they are giving is due to credit report but nothing has changed since i took out the last loan
i understand if they do not want to lend and guess i have been a little daft thinking that just because someone else has one after they have paid that i can, however i feel there website info sort of leads you to believe this as states that once you borrow and pay on time etc you can build up credit - having just been on there forum i realise its not just me and this is not the case - lesson learnt
tbh i was a bit !!!!ed off with it but am now thinking they have done me a favour i have enough change in copper jaj to buy nappies and i think we can make a few meals with whats left in the cupboards etc. I am now feeling a little better knowing that after struggling for a few days i will not need the loan and we will be a little better off, i am starting cutting back so may be a good start0 -
well done you.dont buy nappies, use an old towel and a couple off saftey pins, baby wont notice the difference.0
