Even if they knock you back, wait a couple of weeks, instead of LBP2 (which is probably a decent enough game) you'll find a healthy chunk of them will contain Killzone 3 - although i'm guessing you'll need a parental unit to go buy that for you, it's likely to score an 18 rating! Failing that see if you can't grab together some extra cash & buy GT5

Could maybe also ask how much they'd give you trading in the game you dont want brand new and put it towards the one you do want? Might not be ideal but they might offer you a good price. Especially if its never opened.
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride

Nah I'm 19, so buying that won't be a problem, Killzone looks like a decent game, but I like my driving games and I've heard nothing but good things about it.

I've tried calling but it just puts me on a automated system that gets me nowhere so I'm gonna go into store now. Wish me luck :)

  • I'm back, and I've done pretty well! But not at GAME sadly.

Went in, it was really busy, waited my turn and asked about the online offer, as some people said in this thread, he said they don't do online offers in store so If I wanted that specific one I'd have to get it online.

So I took unholyangel's suggestion and asked him if I could trade in little big planet 2 and pay a bit extra for GT5, he said he think it was included in the box so it wouldn't have a barcode to scan, I asked him to check and he walked off, clearly annoyed that I was supposedly asking him all these questions

Came back and he just said to me it didn't have a barcode on it. He was quite honestly the most unenthusiastic person I've ever met in game. I politely thanked him for his help and left the store

I went to argos (I work there.) And managed to pick up a 320GB PS3 and since I reserved it long ago I got the deal with the free GT5 (No longer available sadly) and a playstation move starter pack for a cool £265! So I went back to game and bought Heavy Rain and Metal gear solid for £45, but had a £5 giftcard and £2.50 on my reward card so £37.50.

So got an amazing deal in the end. Thanks everyone for their suggestions and it just goes to show it pays to shop around for the best deal :)

probably no staff discount on hardware - it's been like that where i've worked. The guy was probably right on the game not having the barcode, however that's a useless idea anyways given the fact said company slap their own god awfull stickers all over the thing anyways which he fine well knows!

Yes my staff discount of 10% was included in the price.

Just to add that you won't get this deal in argos, it's only with the free move pack now.
