:( Had to buy lunch today as I was in a bad mood last night and didn't make anything for lunch.

    Total now £70.55/ £100.00

OK - I don't think I've spent any more of my groceries budget, but my bank account I use for bills isn't tallying with my spreadsheet... I think I'll leave it a couple of days because sometimes transactions take a while to appear. Hope everyone is getting on ok.

My spreadsheet is showing about +18p overall. Don't know why

Just back from my shopping expedition. Spent £47 on groceries, but I seem to have got loads for my money today so I'm happy. Went to £idl and got their offers on Persil nonbio, £3.99 and Comfort conditioner 99p plus Ocean spray cranberry 1.5ltr 89p.
Also had to go to A$da, didnt go too mad in there apart from a pack of badly needed socks for me and a pile of whoopsied Mentos fruity sweets reduced from 75p to 30p for a pack of 4!. Now, I like to have a wee sweetie on the bus home, so I got 6 packs for £1.80 - and a whoopsied Mr K Bakewell Tart ( one of my faves).

ALthough its only 18 Feb, I have actually started my March budget as today is payday. Budget for March is £160.
Finished Feb £25 under budget, so I'm pretty pleased!:D

you will always be rich enough to be generous.

On a trip to the Trafford Centre to take some clothes back I got lured into the M&S food court but managed to spend just £4.30 - very good for me.

I bought cheese and onion crispbakes, bag of posh crisps and a packet of chicken for the dog (only £1). Dog had a load of tests at the vets yesterday and was very good so deserved a treat - not that he associates yesterday with a treat today:p I know, I know - SPOILT!

On the plus side there's £52 back in my account from the tops taken back:o
  • Hi all

    Afternoon peeps

((((HUGS)))) to all the peeps who need them, seems like there are quite a few. Hope that things get better for families that are struggling and with worse problems.

Well i`ve been shopping :D My March challenge starts today due to pay dates and i`ve also managed to spend what was left from the February challenge too :p Sooooooooo i would like to declare £120 for Food and £56.22 for the pets for Feb please MrsM Just a teensy weensy bit over on the pets but within acceptable limits.

I`m afraid that i`ve been stocking up on the offers again :o i now have well over 200 pouches and around 24 tins of catfood in and 2 and a half sacks of dogfood and a few small sacks too, i`m including the bird food for the garden in with the pet food now instead of with our food as its more appropriate and i can`t for the life of me think why i didn`t do it that way round before :o

I was lucky enough to get the deodorant voucher from the boots machine so i got a couple of those and i also got the toothpaste one so i now have three tubes as both the toothpaste and deodorant were already on offer so the till took off both offers :j

I then went to pets at home for the sensations/steaklets offers and got some more supplies :o Argos was next for a super cheapie shower curtain £1.99 :p then i filled the car with petrol which was a little over £38:eek: I`m not sure how many weeks it is since i last put any in tbh so i shall have a look at my reciepts and see if i can find out - i know that its been a good while.

Last but not least i went to MrM and almost everything was on offer that i bought :D I came out with a shoulder of lamb joint, a brisket joint,a gammon joint and a huge pack of cooking bacon. Lots of cheese and the shampoo and conditioner that was on offer too (8 bottles :p:o)
All in all over 18 meals and lots of toiletries for £35.86 :j:j:j Its taken me the best part of an hour to put it all away and find some more nooks and crannys to store things in.

This afternoon i shall be doing some batch cooking methinks :D

    SD
Planning on starting the GC again soon :p

Went to Mr M's yesterday, only intended to but milk and bread. I ended up paying £59.98 . Never go shoping with a husband who keeps remembering food he cannot live without! Still, I did manage to bag a few bargins so will not need to shop for a few weeks.
    January spend = £100

just finished some ironing for a customer took me 4 hours
but it means this evening i will have some money yipee.have been looking at ways to buy meat without using the supermarkets but without it being hugely expensive.Have found a butchers in my town that delivers free of charge so have ordered a box to be delivered, not sure how it is going to compare price wise. but im putting my money into an independent retailer which even though every penny counts for me makes me happier,im getting dispondant at the fat cats getting richer and small buinesses going under.
the box should consist of the following

    1 x 3lb (1 x 1.35Kg) Topside Joints
    1 x 3lb (1 x 1.35Kg) Boneless Pork Joints
    1 x 3lb (1 x 1.35kg) Whole Chicken
    3lb (1.35kg) lamb chops
    3lb (1.35kg) chicken portions
    3lb (1.35kg) lean minced beef
    3lb (1.35kg) loin pork chops

i explained to the butcher that im not keen on chicken portions, we eat alot of breasts so hes going to change portions to breasts and reduce slightly the lamb and pork chops for more breasts, this is costing £50

    is that good?
just wanted to add i dont have anything against supermarkets but it upsets me to see how many empty shops im now seeing

    Afternoon

Best wishes to everybody who is having a difficult time at the moment, I hope that things improve for you and yours.
And also to the rest of us coping with the usual ups and downs that life throws at us!

Yesterday I stocked up on sausages (half-term essential), eggs, milk and biscuits and some bread, mandarins and tomatoes today.

I'm doing Slimming World again (I know:o) so have been going through the books and am making a potato and pea curry tonight which sounds just like the sort of cheap meal I like! I'll post it if it's nice. I tried to buy some garam masala to go in it from my local T*sco Express but they only sold mixed herbs, cinnamon and parsley - not much use and definitely less range than they used to have. The C*-op didn't have any either but I expect we'll survive.

Will update siggy (not much left:()
    Have a good weekend.:)
August Shopping Challenge. 26/8. Budget £250 Spent £256.81.. £6.81 over. So £0.00 a day left.

Am I the only one who doesn't regularly have a full roast?

No we rarely have a roast dinner, possibly only 2 or 3 times a year, we all in enjoy them we just enjoy other things as well.

    This weeks update:
OH 3 x prescriptions £21.60 (he has an on going very agonising medical condition)
Me, well firstly I didn't think I'd spent anything, feeling very saintly, then remembered, the tea & cake £2.50 yesterday afternoon and then the drinks I bought at ten pin bowling £3.20 earlier in the week, on both occasions I had taken my children and my nephews out for some fun, conclusion children are bad for the budget despite being great fun.

    Weeks total £27.30
    Annual Total £594.34
