Just remembered what I got the other day and was nice -
H0me Barga!ns had pack of 4 them ready to cook bread rolls for 49p. :j
I always waste bread as I live alone so this is ideal for me.
Had with Mr T value Tom Soup at 17p per tin so a lovely warm lunch for 30p
I got up late today so had some crumpets for late lunch (date was 12th but they looked ok).
Then just now had cheese & mushroom omlette for early tea
(have excercise class at 6pm)
everything I used had today or yesterdays date - eggs, milk, mushrooms
ok, the cheese wasnt but I've found a way to stretch it, thin slithers using veggie peeler!
then for pud had Mr T version of angel delight with the rest of the milk with yday date and checked the bk of the pudding powder and had last months date on it.
it all tasted so much better knowing it was a "free" lunch in the sense of it was all stuff in the past I would've thrown away. :T :T
and finnished off with a glass of squash using tap water - I normally drink cans of pop, or bottled water. :rotfl:
now let's see if I can carry this on, lol
tonight got aerobics then zumba - I know once I'm there I'll be ok, but lacking the energy at the moment, eeeeeek

Mothership I used to have an OH like that. It's amazing what you can pass under the radar. Lentils? Veg curry? Or just tell him you didn't have time to go to the supermarket so he's just going to have to live with it! Only do it about once a month, but if its eating or not eating they tend to get the message:DGC Mar 13 £47.36/£1500

Thanks goodgirl for the price of spuds at Sains berries. I don't shop there very often because I generally find things are not cheap enough for me, except of course their basic curry sauce in a jar, about 9p I think.
If I find something has gone up and is more than I want to pay, I look for something similar as a cheaper substitute. I am pretty flexible with my eating habits, don't mind what it is as long as it's cheap and nutritious, and not meat. I am munching my way through a 2kg bag of carrots and a swede at the moment, root vegetables are all the same to me.
No spend day today, couldn't be bothered to go out.

spent 21.51 in total, thanks to £11.00 of clubcard vouchers!
Total now £68.55/ £100.00
want to save an additional 10.00 off this for a new cat litter box, so will aim for up to £90 by Monday 28th Feb. £21.45 left. Should be plenty.0 -
Ok, just worked it out, up to £140.74/£200, not including the trip out to Pizza Express. I tend not to include meals out, even if we put them on the joint account - which is probably a bit cheeky!
BUT because of P.E. and the savings going to Mr L's account (don't ask) we only have £6.23 left in the joint account. Not very happy! Will have to transfer some more so I can buy what we need today - running out of loo roll
Added my basket up on T*sco website, £24.44 apparently. Oh B*gg*r, forgot to add milk and bread to the adding up... be back in a sec!
Right, added the milk and bread and up to £26.40, if I get Mr L the seeded bread he likes. Hmm I think he might just have to cope with T*sco's own wholemeal, 69p instead of £1.10 (and the £1.10 is on offer...). I will learn to make my own bread at some point! It must be cheaper to make seeded bread, if I buy some wholemeal flour and a bulk load of mixed seeds? I can see how it might not work out if we were getting the cheaper bread anyway, but I can't seem to persuade him...“Obstacles are those frightful things you see when you take your eyes off your goals.”

My name is CherryPie, and I'm a spendaholic
Haven't added up my sig yet, but I'm well over. Into damage limitation now.
And now would be the time to save, clutch went on my car halfway to work on Sat  Why do these things never happen when you're near home? Just leaving the motorway at a busy roundabout was not ideal.
However, onwards & upwards!
On a more positive note, I'm getting more of the meal planning done now. Even if I'm only 1 or 2 nights ahead, it's better than just buying a ready meal on the way home.
Also banned myself from watching TV during the week, unless I'm on a day off. It just eats up my time and it's a waste.
Rant(s) over, going for a long hot bath and some me time:TMy name is CherryPie and I'm addicted to grocery shopping!!

Hi All, is it too late to join, since its falf way through the month already? Should i wait till March?
Newbie here (as if you couldn't tell, lol).
In the last 3 months i have almost halved my grocery bill from £480 p/m to £250p/m. That feeds me, my 11yr old son and 7 yr old son and very hungry cat.
Since its half way through the month, can you put me down for just £150 please?0 -
well, still doing OK with food budget:
£55.87 at the moment
Shame my clothes spending isn;t so controlled...:p0 -

Haha I checked my pudding powder and it had last YEARS date on it! Im still alive though!

When you buy any bread-rebag it into sandwich bags and just defrost a little as needed-a loaf will last you a week or whatever that way.
Cheese lasts longer if you buy a strong cheese rather than a mild one.
I cleaned out my fridge tonight and was sad to see some ham wasted. I saved the carrots though-now peeled all of them and chopped and frozen. Making a lof of bread now as Ive gone right off the sliced stuff-although the(full grown) kids like it. I made some drop scones tonight-these always disappear!
Did some shopping in Iceland on my way home from work and spent £11 on bread milk and a few bits to topup.Annual Grocery budget 2018 is £1500 pa £125 calendar month £28.84 pw for 3 adults0 -
Just a quick update, I've now spet £179 out of my £200 budget. I don't think £21 will quite cut it to the end of the month but I'll do my best. Budget is normally £250 and I was trying to be good this month, hopefully I'll only be £20 over or so. We should only need bread, milk and fresh fruit and veg for the rest of the month. Plus I've been buying bits for weaning bubs, little bowls, spoons, baby rice etc just so I have it in even though I've at least another month before I even think about weaning. Oh well going to my mums on sunday for dinner so there is one meal I don't need to worry about very MSE.0
