Just got back from Mr T. £33.27 spend with £10.57 off for BOGOF and similar. Bought a couple of things not on the list, but they were on offer and will get used - Shreddies 342. The DH seems to inhale them so the 3kg will probably only last about 2 weeks:)
That should be my total spend for the month. DH won't need much as I've stocked up for him.

A quick signature update. Ten days to go and on track (for now). I need to go for a shop for this week's food though as my fridge and storecupboards are a bit bare. I've got my list so I'll try to stick to that.:cheesy::cheesy: Cheese… milk's leap toward immortality :cheesy: :cheesy:Clifton FadimanFeb'11 - GC: £105.89/£125 - NSD: 15:jMar'11 GC: £3.84/£100 - NSD: 00

Oh and I forgot to say - tonight we had chinese stir fry. Mr T were selling ready cooked noodles on BOGOF and stir fry veg on BOGOF. We made our own stir fry sauce with 2 dessert spoons of soy sauce, sweet chilli sauce and peanut butter with a bit of water. (A recipe from the Waitrose weekend magazine). DH turned his nose up at the fact that I hadn't bought any meat of any sort to go with it but in fact it was really filling and we didn't really miss the meat. I bought two packs of each and there's enough left over to have it again on Monday! Can't leave it any longer or the veg will be feeling a bit sorry for itself.:rotfl:
That sounds delish. Have you any tips on where the cheapest soy sauce might be? Tesco keep putting up their prices!0 -
SavingJane You can freeze it cooked - but then can't freeze anything you make with it later. Or, you could make up a couple of meals and freeze them. I'm doing a chicken, bacon and leek pie today with my leftover roast. Will then put it into single portions in the freezer for later consumption.GC Mar 13 £47.36/£1500

Perfect thank you, we only have a small freezer so can't batch cook, so i shall just bag it up into right size for us and not waste any
Thanks

Well fell of the MSE wagon last week and hardly came on here, but that was also due to being very busy. Cant believe how little I have spent so far this month. I seem to be able to make meals out of hardly anything and not buying so many sauces etc but making my own. Have even lost 4lb so shows what rubbish is in them.
The other strange thing is I am starting to really not like going to the SM's. I used to love going shopping there as thought I could cover my shopping addiction by saying its food but now just dont enjoy it at all. Hope I am not becoming a scrooge.MAY NSD's

sazzledazzle I know what you mean. It's become a matter of pride already not to admit to an overspend. I don't think I've ever spent so little and I still have a full freezer. Finding ways to use up wilted bits and things about to die is becoming a great challenge. Never thought I could get so many meals out of a chicken! At the moment I am roasting 4 peppers that will not get used while I am away. Will freeze and use in lasagne when I get back. Mushrooms on the hob to be treated the same.
Anyone got any suggestions for yoghurt? Can you freeze it? I have a bit sitting in the fridge and OH won't go near it.GC Mar 13 £47.36/£1500 -
Afternoon All,
I am not proud that i am well and truly over my budget & i just placed my first AF order - the lucky boxes are back!
But on a good point i have not used a credit card once this month! Only 4 days until i get paid! Will start my March budget from 19th Feb - 18th March - going on my pay days!
I brought fillet steak at the weekend - not very MSE at all but i treated DH to steak & chips for Valentines day and he treated me to a massive box of chocolates - not good SW wise! But i enjoyed it - isn't that the whole point!?!?!?
Will update my sig when i get a chance!0
