  • I was told last week by a member of staff that my local Swansea was being taken over by a budget DIY company and that the store will remain open just changing its name. Not sure if this happening nationwide. Hopefully they will keep all staff on.

Focus is owned by a private equity firm called Cerberus (I googled!) Wickes was sold to TP a few years back...
We have already lost our local Homebase, has there been a big DIY downturn or something? Or is it just that Focus has always been a bit pants
  • Focus 18 miles from me,but if Wickes or Homebase or B&Q were not just down the road I would rather shop in a Focus store, their prices are not bad comparatively.

our local store was totally overpriced and basically a rip off, closed down a couple of years ago, i'd say this was inevitable

Op - where did you see this info - please provide link as I think you have scared a few people (job losses & order losses). Think this needs clearing up quickly.
  • I would be very interested in where you saw this information. We sell to Focus, I was in contact with them today and they are paying me today, cheque should be turning up Monday. Going to keep a very very close eye on them.

    Any information is very greatful

  • This is interesting. I drove past a local Focus the other day and the whole front facia had gone. My instant thought was it was going. It still looked open but not for long.... Sorry if that's not what some people want to hear.
