Natwest Customer Care- Could Be Interesting....

Hi all,
My husband has been delaing with Natwest at branch level for recovery of £418 in fee's which have been imposed over 2 weeks on our bank account. This has proved frustrating with Natwest only offering £266 of the £418, so we've told them where to go and to cough up the £418.
After some advice from a colleague, he telephoned their customer care team (NOT customer relations) who advised he can LEGALLY claim back all the UNLAWFUL charges imposed, in direct contradiction to their response letters to customers. The customer care team are now telling us to write to the branch & customer relations citing NATWEST internal rules, which state if a customer threatens small claims court action OR media publicity, a refund should be provided. The member of staff did let us quote their full name and extention number as a reference.
This is what we have done now and we await the response from the branch manager.
Might be interesting for any other Natwest customers....
