ParkingEye - what happens next?

Hi I have just received a letter from parking eye demanding a payment of£50 or £80 if not paid within 14 days of the letters issue, I also would love to ignore this but my letter has photo evidence, does this make a difference ??? I was 5 mins over my free parking time ???
Let me guess, the evidence is 2x pretty CCTV images of your vehicle entering and exiting site?
Makes no difference whatsoever, unless you claim not to be the driver and they actually take you to court, where the pictures are of a good enough quality for the judge to identity you as being the driver.0 -
Photo "evidence" has absolutely no meaning here - and its bottom of the food chain even in legit enforcement. Why on earth do you think it would make any difference?
Also, this is an outdated thread from 2011 - bringing it back helps nobody as things have in some ways moved-on. You should really start your own or look at the umpteen PE threads that have been active in the last few days.0 -
Maths is not my strongpoint but £50 is not 40% of £80 is it?
BPA CoP breach?0 -
Indeed it is not. £50 is 62.5% of £80.Maths is not my strongpoint but £50 is not 40% of £80 is it?
BPA CoP breach?
The BPA Code of Practice Paragraph 19.7 states:19.7 If prompt payment is made, you must offer a reduced
payment to reflect your reduced costs in collecting the
charge. The reduction in cost should be by at least 40% of
the full charge. ‘Prompt payment’ is defined as 14 days from
the date the driver or the keeper received the notice.
A 40% reduction on a charge of £80 is £32 which leaves £48 so they are in breach of the BPA CoP. Here is link to the CoP http://www.britishparking.co.uk/write/Documents/AOS/BPA_CodeofPractice_2013_v1.pdf0 -
Yes it's a breach, providing its in England or Wales ? If it is I would be tempted to appeal and take it to poplaWhen posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

Did you read my post above yours, from a year ago? I even explained how to get to the main forum in case newbies don't know how to get off someone else's ancient archived and irrelevant thread...PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
