ICESAVE ?? It's ICICI that have made the increase

I think that the poster meant that the new ICESAVE account has provided some good competition so banks like ICICI have been kept on their toes.

We don't know what ICICI would have done without the new ICESAVE account, but it's certinaly not doing savers any harm to have some good competition out there.

Crap, I've just moved my savings from ICICI to A+L Direct Saver and yesterday sent a request to close my account.

Like many others here, I've been concerned by the neg feedback, but have never really had any problems with the service. I guess the one big irritant is the fact that their website is frequently down, which I can see being a potential nightmare if I should need to access my account urgently.

Still, at this rate (no pun intended) I'll be keeping my money with them for a while.
  • I have got an ICICI account but with only a quid in it, will wait two more weeks to see if anything else come up! then i think this will be too good a rate to resist...still a bit concerned about the neg feedback tho !!

Where we are at is that i haven't been able to access my icici account for four months. I contacted them two weeks ago to change my username and for them to send me a new password and nothing has happened.

The customer service people on the other end of the phone don't always understand what i am saying and i have to speak more slowly. Do not bank with these people they are incompetants. I'm just an ordinary guy going about his own business and i have run into problems with these people, you will too if you continue to bank with them.

I liked the way that ICICI sent an email to account holders to keep us informed. I'm very pleased with the service and communication from them. Dare I say it - they and Icesave are a breath of fresh air to the smug UK banking system.

  • I was just about to begin the process of moving to Icesave but I am sticking put with ICICI now....
  • I've had a lot of problems with them. Don't say i didn't warn you.

I'm banking with icesave in the future and up till now they've been pretty good.

...we've had an account from them from the start. No problem setting it up, no problem running either, money transfers easily between Smile, IF and ICICI in both directions. For us it has been a straight-forward internet deposit account paying good interest.

We took it steady, paid in a few quid, transferred it around to ensure the links were good and then dumped our house purchase deposit in it for several months. Nice and quick to pull it out too in £20K blocks.

Very pleased to see they raised their interest rate immediately - not like some of the other home-based laggards. Personally, we can't fault them...
