Freezer won't work in Garage

Friend at work bought a fridge freezer from Argos just before Christmas. Put it in his garage (where his previous one had been for several years) and switched it on but it wouldn't work. Contacted Argos, who sent an engineer who said that it wouldn't work if the ambient temperature was below 5 degrees. Argos refuse to take…

The problem only arises with some/most fridge-freezers.

I was looking for a replacement freezer which would be sited in the garage and really wanted a frost-free model but read somewhere that, because of how they keep themselves frost-free, it wouldn't work properly in a garage.

Pity 'cos it's a pain having to defrost the piggin thing.
