3-3 Calls - Come to an end

Just in case people haven't noticed, if your looking to upgrade or join Three mobile they no longer offer 3-3 calls free. Of course if your upgrading and your account shows you use 3-3 calls alot you can negoitate that they include them on your new tarriff.

For familys like mine who have 4 mobiles with Three the 3-3 calls are really handy.

Can I presume that existing customers will retain the free calls to 3?

  • That would have a major impact on my wife and I. I only got her to switch to Three last year from O2, too. Oh well, if they take it off current contracts we'll both be seeking to extricate ourselves.

I just done an early upgrade on a family members phone, and got 5,000 free 3-to-3 minutes, and this was only last week, so how can they say they aint doing them anymore?

edit: I didnt have 3-to-3 call included in the last price plan
    Awaiting Inspiration......................
  • The One Plan is still showing on their website as having 3-3 minutes. Not sure about their other plans.

  • The 3-3 calls remain unchanged for existing customers until you Upgrade. At that point 3-3 calls will only be included in your tariff if you change to The One Plan, which includes 5000 3-3 minutes, or if you haggle to have 3-3 calls included in your new tariff.

New tariffs were launched at the beginning of January (Talk 300, 500, Text 100, 300, and so on...) and no longer included 3-3 calls as part of the inclusive allowance. Only The One Plan includes 3-3 calls.

For new customers purchasing 2 contracts, stores have the authority to do an 'under the counter' deal to offer 300 3-3 mins for each handset to close the deal. This includes if you purchase a contract mobile broadband and a contract handset at the same time (3-3 calls would be for the handset).

Existing contract customers purchasing a new additional contract can also be offered 3-3 calls as a deal closer.

If you are approaching the end of your contract and looking to Upgrade there shouldn't be too much hassle in retaining 3-3 calls if you do the usual and threaten to leave.

Thanks for the more detailed post regarding this issue.
