Am I being fussy?

I like the 'dear seller' letters written above. I think I will have to pluck up some courage and do that. I'm not bothered about any refunds or anything like that - it's just that I always leave feedback, which of course is part of the whole EBay deal, and I was struggling to do so on this occasion. I just wouldn't like anyone else to feel disappointed like this.
Incidentally, she had another dress for sale for about £200 which I was tempted by, but couldn't really afford - I'm now glad I didn't bid on it! The winner of that one has yet to leave feedback so I'll be interested to see what they put.0 -

I've got a nice dress for a good price that I'm happy with (or will be after it's been cleaned), but I feel it's not quite as described and the packaging was poor and a rip off, so I'm torn between a neutral and not leaving any feedback at all (ie the cowards way out
).
On this basis, depending upon the seller's response to any communication you make, a neutral would seem appropriate or a positive with guarded words (e.g. nice item now I've had it cleaned and all the stains came out) But please leave something!Gwlad heb iaith, gwlad heb galon0 -
Sounds about right to me. The postage overcharge might not be deliberate: she probably just guessed and overestimated.frivolous_fay wrote:I'd suggest something like this:
Dear Seller,
The dress arrived today. It is lovely, but I'm afraid I'm a little disappointed... based on the description I was hoping for something wearable, but it arrived crumpled and badly in need of a dry clean. There's a stain on the arm, the cuffs need cleaning and there's a deodorant mark.
Just wanted to drop you a line in case you weren't aware of its condition. I don't believe in leaving feedback for a disappointing purchase wthout giving the seller a chance to respond first.
Regards,
Your Buyer
Adapt as necessary!
Although eBay policy states that clothes should be cleaned according to manufacturers' instructions before sale, it's common practice to sell "dry clean only" items uncleaned, so it's probably best to ask in advance if in doubt. In my experience, most "dry clean only" garments (except velvet) will tolerate gentle handwashing without any problems.
P.S. I will confess that the quality of my packaging sometimes depends partly on price achieved. I send cheap handbags in Jiffy bags, but any that make a really good price get bubble wrap and a cardboard box!0
