Tesco Triple Credit Compared to GiffGaff

Hi All,

Was just about to order a giffgaff sim when I thought I'd check Tesco.

Based on my average calls / texts Giffgaff would cost me £5 a month (or £60 over 12monts) & Tesco £6.25 (or £75 over 12 months).

But, could I be better off on Tesco due to the free credit?

Eg - first month top £10, get £20 free credit so balance remains at 10.
second month no need to top up, balance down to 3.75....
My calculations make it almost the same?

Any thoughts?

The clubcard points on that are probably not even worth mentioning!

Thanks

Yes, you could probably get away with 4 £10 topups per year.

  • Hi users.
    Similar to Supermonkey's post:

I'm unclear about the terms of use for Tesco's offer.
Do you need to buy & use £10 in a month and is it automatic or do you need to do something to activate it?

    Top-up and we'll give you giving you 10 20 free credit 30 15 30 free credit 45 20 40 free credit 60 Terms applyMany Thanks.

Isn't the Tesco triple credit just a marketing gimmick ?

With triple credit calls cost 25p/min, without (on lite tariff) 8p/min
Texts triple credit 10p, or 4p (on lite tariff)

I.e. lite is almost the same without the gimmick and without the need to regularly top-up.
