Smae thing more or less (same bit of control panel) You need to decide if you wish read / write or just read. On the file folders that you wish to share again right click on the folder and select sharing/share this folder. The techie was probably using remote control software (logmein, teamviewer, gotomypc etc), you could use vnc or possibly remote desktop to remote control the other pc, which is different to file sharing and printing.!!
