Hmmm I can't email ofcom easily from their site. Seems to be some hoops to leap through and the listed complaints don't directly correlate to this complaint. Not surprising for a Gov. body responsible for 'communications'. Anyone know a direct email address I can just send a complaint to?0

For Ofcom - there isn't one I think - you have to phone or postal letter.0 -
i have recently taken out a three year contract with three network if this new law comes in can they hold me to a three year contract.does anyone know
In places like Cyprus my understanding is that most/all contracts are SIM only and you buy the phone at full price. This gives you cheaper calls and the option of choosing how much/little you want to pay for the phone.IT Consultant in the utilities industry specialising in the retail electricity market.

Yet another toothless and pointless law.
It is easy to ban long contracts, but it's impossible to force providers to offer short contracts. If they have to offer, but they don't want to they will simply set the prohibitingly high price for such contracts.0 -
Why havent T mobile / Orange and 3 mobile added 12 month mobile contracts yet?
Excluding the sim only deals!0 -

They don't have to as long as they offer the 12 month sim only ones - they get around it. Only way to force them to offer proper contracts would be with people stopping taking on 18 / 24 months.
My 18 T-mobile contract comes to end in October. Internet signal is an issue around my area, the voicemail is not free - I am off to another network (probably voda - they do 12 monthers) after 3 - 4 years with T-mob.0 -
