Thinking of getting an unlocked E72 to use on ASDA mobile network. Don't want any expensive monthly costs so will be PAYG.

Anyone know if I could send and collect emails to/from my talktalk email account via WiFi hotspots?

Thanks

    Hi,

You can do this however our smtp server will only work when connected to a talktalk connection a with any other ISP. In order for it to work you would need to use an authenticated smtp server which will work on any connection.

To be honest the best advice i can give would be to set-up a gmail account enable pop or imap and use the gmail account on your phone. Google have an authenticated smtp and so will work anywhere and on any connection, also if you leave talktalk you wont have to change your email address again.

Here is some info on the google settings you may need:

    1. emailaddress@talktalk.net. .
    2. mail.talktalk.net into the Incoming mail (POP3, IMAP or HTTP) server box.
    3. smtp.talktalk.net into the Outgoing mail (SMTP)
    4. Password

I'd 2nd the gmail way, also you can use google sync to get the email and to back up your contacts and calendar to gmail. (set it to use wifi only to prevent data charges)
