I know what you mean. Everytime they say something like 'let's go and have a cup of tea and a bacon sarnie' ' I want to yell at the screen 'that's going to cost you more than your entire profit for the show'.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. the auction houses are also to blame lotting rubbish when if joe public turned up they would turn your stuff down. there is an auctioneer of a certain age who has a makeup girl on his staff for when the cameras turn up.0

I think whether some of the items would be lotted or not depends on the auction house. Some I use have had worse lots than some of the TV ones. They are not always using fine art or antique auctions after all, general sales are just that and I've been to some of the houses that appear on the TV and the lots are about right.
AS for makeup, I would think it is fairly standard to 'touch up' a bit under the lights.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I don't know swan, but I'm sure someone will make a suggestion.
On a similar subject, I saw a programme tonight on Quest, called 'Baggage Battles', about people who bought lost luggage at auction.
Seems a bit to risky for meEarly retired - 18th December 2014

Saw this too. Absolutely unbelievable that a group of Americans would fly over here simply to bid at a lost baggage auction with no guarantee whatsoever that there will be anything of interest/value at all. Almost painfully staged.
The Apprentice is another offender for this- 'Our team made £600 profit in a day for you, Alan! The taxis all day + food/drink, rent of that mansion, Nick & Margaret's, and our own, wages didn't cost anything at all...'The quickest way to become a millionaire is start off as a billionaire and go into the airline business.
