still looking to book something where is the best area we have 2 boys 5 and 9 so could do with somewhere where there is lots to do0

It really depends what you're looking for. Shanklin is a lovely beach with a few little arcades, crazy golf etc. Sandown is a bit busier but similar. Ryde has a gorgeous beach, ice rink, bowling etc, Ventnor is quieter but lovely. As long as you've got a car though, everywhere is easy to get to.0

There are a load of other attractions on the island. Pick up a summer guide on the ferry on the way over.
For food on the IOW I like this site by a couple of locals:

You're forgetting the Roman Villas at Newport and Brading as well as the Needles Battery.0 -

Try this one ; http://www.holidaywight.co.uk/ it's close to Whitecliff Bay and not far from Sandown which is ideal for kids of that age. If travelling by car, there is a CD audio guide available from the Tourist Info Centres but they are supposed to be closing down at the end of March (!?). You can get it online here: Around-The-Island-Tour-CD I believe it's popular with coach drivers.PLEASE NOTEMy advice should be used as guidance only. You should always obtain face to face professional advice before taking any action.0 -

Whitecliff bay is lovely. stayed there a fair few years ago now, but it was somewhere I'd recommend.
We stayed at a caravan site in Shanklin aswell, forget the name, but that was awful! Unless you want to go to the beach that is one place that I would steer clear of.0 -
