You guys have me worried now...I requested the card after reading this post, still haven't got the form from them to take down to the post office yet.

I'm hoping davek1 or someone else who has successfully done it will be along to explain how they did it :)

It might only be a tenner plus a refundable monthly fee (I'll be changing to the low use version straight away as it would only be for one or two transactions a month), but that tenner is a lot of money to me at the moment if it turns out to not take paypal.

I have seen other cards that work the way ianian99 describes with you having to give a reference number to pay stuff into it, so that does kinda make sense. Hope theres another way around it.

Why is this so awkward :(

It's in the terms and conditions but it's £9.95 to get the card plus the first months subs of £4.95. Then £4.95 per month. Cash withdrawals are £2 (uk) or £3 (non-uk) from ATM's or £3 at banks. additions charge of 2.75% of transaction for foriegn purchases.

You can upgrade to a flexi plus card for an addition £4.95. No monthly subs on this one but must use every 120 days or addition £4.95 will be charged per used 120 days. This card carries a £1 a purchase charge.

When you consider how much a credit card costs, the Cashplus is cheap!!

You can switch from the £4.95 per month to £1 per transaction if you are not going to use the card much

exactly...and there is talk about the cc companies bringing back their annual fee charges anyway to recoup on some of the losses they are having....

    That sounds daft to me!

Your Cashplus card number is YOUR own account number, so money being paid into it is money paid into, and not from, that account.

    obvously yopu dont understand

when you have funds paid into the cashplus HOLDING account you use that account number and sortcode and use YOUR CARD NUMBER as a REFERENCE code so if you try deposit your paypal money into that account then cashplus wont know who its from as there is not a box in paypal to put in a reference number.
each card does not have its own bank account.
Plus even if you could do it then it would only woirk with the first person to do it as paypal would recognise that the account number is in use by someone else.

this tells you how to put money in your account.http://www.mycashplus.co.uk/uploads/Image/Wages%20Payment%20Form.pdf
Apart from not being able to put your card number as ref with paypal they also say that the name must be excactly the same as the name the bank account is in and obviously the bank account is gonna be in the name of cashplus.
There aint really a way to load a prepay card directly with paypal unless you send someone the money via paypal and they deposit it into the account for you.
