I'm glad you are pleased with them - we have had three sets now for friends and family.
I think the the phones are well-built, don't feel cheap and importantly, call quality is very good (Philips "Crystal Sound 2" really does seem to work) - we have tried Binatone and Samsung DECT phones in the past which really aren't in the same league IMHO.
QVC sell the same set (albeit in a pristine cardboard box) for £72.60 + £5.95 P&P:

nearly rich and gavinp: please could either of you confirm whether the 3 pack of Philips phones has a text or SMS facility which would enable you to send texts to a mobile?
millie: if you've missed or not got round to ordering this or want it NOW, Argos currently have 2 Philips phones with an answerphone which can be remotely accessed, half price, £49.75, here. Has the remote answerphone facility you want. Can also do text messaging which is something I was after. Actually I wanted that more than the answerphone ... Also the batteries in those are normal AAA rather than two stuck together!
Glad to hear the Philips quality is good, still charging them and won't know if their range is adequate (wanted for work) until next week!Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
Sue,
The refurb phones from Novatech do not have a text messaging facility.
My parents have the newer Philips phones (like on the Argos site) and although they have more features (including naming the phones like "Lounge", "Kitchen", "Bedroom" etc as well as SMS), personally I find them much more fiddly to use with the "dial control" thingy on the side being a constant source of irritation. Maybe I'm just a bit ham-fisted!
Thanks

Thanks I have just reserved one of the phones from my local argos I dont need 3 handsets anyway, and the text message facility will be useful.0

Sorry just too late with the info you wanted Millie, I haven't looked at this thread earlier today.
Not sure what "dial control" Gavin means, mine are just controlled with number codes no dials.
I was pleased that they were already "connected" to each other when we got them, last time we tried to upgrade we picked some Binatone ones from Argos but took them back because the sound quality was rubbish and they refused to "see" each other.
The intercomm facility is handy as I work from home and my office is in the roof space, so I can communicate with the rest of the family without yelling down two flights of stairs LOL.
Also we used to have a phone in the kitchen with ansaphone but got rid of it when we changed the kitchen so it's good to have that again.
Overall I'm really pleased with my bargain thanks Gavin.0 -
Sorry - not making myself clear there - the "dial" (pilot key in Philip's jargon) is on the phones sold by Argos - although also a bit of a bargain
Thanks

These phones are refurbished (hence the price) which seems to mean the cardboard box the phones come in is tatty but the contents are brand-new!
Thanks
Gavin
thanks for the tip, my BT phones have been rubbish for sound quality. Picked up a pair of the Philips Kala 300 on Ebay, got them today & the sound is superb. Many thanks. :-)Jertzy x0 -
Unfortunately Novatech triple packs are out of stock and they don't seem to know when they're getting any more. And I think the Argos ones are all gone too. Toying with getting one of the single Philips handsets from Novatech for £19 - unless anyone has any other brilliant suggestions for a cordless answerphone, must have reasonable clarity of speech because I'm getting rather deaf, but don't really need fancy features at home.
BTW, haven't been able to get the Argos phones to work between the two buildings at work, but then we're talking about a basement ... they work fine within our building, so proving jolly useful!Signature removed for peace of mind0
