I agree with comments about Nicky - very good quality. They sell the bigger packs in Homebargains, and B&M. Poundshops do 4 packs. I usually pick a pack up if I'm in there for something else.

Wilko's Basics 6 for 80p, not bad at all. Not as good as Nicky but a lot cheaper.

Nicky is fantastic. My hubby is very fussy about loo roll and he loves it.
  • lol can't believe I've got Things To Say about loo rolls BUT

I bought the Nicky ones after reading about them on here.
Seriously, stop buying anything else - they are absolutely A1 and very cheap.

Even my husband, who is very particular about what he uses round his uknowot, came in brandishing a piece at me and saying in a voice filled with wonder "It's....even...scented" !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ps the piece he was holding was, er, unused.....

I've been seeing messages that Lidl or Asda brand toilet paper is the most preferred, but seeing I don't have either store in our town, I have to stick with Tesco stores. So this is basically for those folks that are like me, and have very little choice in stores.

Personally I prefer Sainsbury's Basic Jumbo TP. It's not bad, 6 rolls for £1.46, at least that's the price on mysupermarket.co.uk but I thought it was a little less than that in the local supermarket. I find it better than the basic basic TP.

Anyone else find Sainsbury's TP adequate?
  • We use Tesco Value - I refuse to spend a fortune on something that is literally thrown down the drain.

I have tried other brands to see if they are more economic, but have not found anything to beat it, do not use noticeably more of the Value one than anything else, and it may not be fantastically soft but it is soft enough.
What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare

Adding my 2p I used to work for a 'big name' in the toilet tissue world in the quality control dept. and There are different grades of toilet tissue but because the supermarket brands are run on the machines for shorter lenghts of time than the big name brands quite often the reels wouldn't be changed and the big brand stuff ended up in the supermarket packaging. This was also true for tissues. Very rarely did this happen with the real bargain basement stuff, they had one converting machine pretty much dedicated to making this. So to summarise mid range and posh probably nothing/not much in it. Cheap is probably cheap whichever name it has.
Time, Tide and Diarrhoea wait for no man. ;)
