Andrex is the only toilet roll I buy (the normal kind, not quilted) because it lasts significantly longer than other brands that I have tried. I don't shop at Tesco/Asda/Aldi/Lidl so can't compare with those.

If Andrex isn't available, the next best for me (lasts long in comparison to other brands, but not as long as Andrex) is Charmin/Cushelle.

It is not just about the number of sheets but the thickness/absorbency. If sheets are thicker you use less. (Sorry to make you think too much about toilet functions.)

    Exactly.

Give the Nicky a try, it will only cost you £1 for 4 so you aren't risking a fortune.

I promise you, it is way better than Andrex. ;)

Never heard of it before. A Heron Foods opened near me recently. I'll see if I can find it.

I will not be heartbroken by not being able to look at the cute little Andrex puppy every day. That does not influence me at all.

Looks like this. ;) You can get different colours so the packaging may be blue, peach and another colour but I can't remember what it is.

Totally agree about Nicky. All the others I've bought seem much thinner compared to it

I totally agree about Tesco toilet roll, the quality is terrible now. I buy quilted velvet or triple velvet, it's about £3 or so for 9 rolls in Savers or Superdrug.

Always bought Tesco(Supersoft i think) , but the latest pack I bough has definitely deteriorated in quality. Anyone else find this?

I like cheap , but not nasty which this is now

I've never had a problem with Tesco Luxury Soft. Our store only has 3 Tesco types of rolls. Value which is tiny and like cardboard, Luxury Soft which is like Andrex, and Quilted which is pretty good quality but get very few sheets.

Try 'Nicky' toilet rolls from Home Bargains, B & M, Farm Foods, Heron etc.

They are £1 for 4 or £1.02 for 9 (just gone up, they wre £1.99 for 9).

My mother in law is a bit of a loo roll snob and always used to buy Andrex because it was the most expensive, she could afford it and she thought it was the best.

I have converted her to Nicky, it is far better than Andrex.

Give it a try if you can find it, you won't go back to Andrex.

My local £1 shop tends to sell Nicky in packs of 2, 4 and rarely 8. However, they were the first brand I tried but they were lacking in quantity. They just didn't go the extra mile like others, Tesco etc.

Other than that Nicky is pretty good.
