Tesco vs Andrex

Options
I've been seeing messages that Lidl or Asda brand toilet paper is the most preferred, but seeing I don't have either store in our town, I have to stick with Tesco stores. So this is basically for those folks that are like me, and have very little choice in stores.

I kind of compared Tesco brand paper to Andrex not so long ago. Not the Tesco Value paper, I mean the ones in the purple wrapping. I don't bother with the quilted ones of any brand because you get very few sheets for such high prices.

I don't know if anyone has noticed but there is no difference between the quality of the Tesco brand compared to the Andrex ones. In fact, I think you get a few more sheets per roll from the Tesco ones.

So, save something like a £1 per 12pack and go for the Tesco ones.

Personally I think the quality of Andrex's standard toilet tissue has gone downhill in the last year. We now buy Triple Velvet instead.

I have tried various brands recently, I always bought Andrex but wanted to cut costs so thought I would try something cheaper. Cushelle was on offer so I tried that, then I tried Nouvelle and although there is nothing wrong with them I think Andrex (for us anyway) lasts longer and is therefore more cost effective.

I bought a 12 pack of Andrex almost 2 weeks ago and we're still on roll number 2!! I went through 6 rolls of Cushelle in 2 weeks previously. So for us I think it's Andrex all the way.

I buy the branded on own brand, whichever is on offer. I'm not at all bothered about cushioned velvet or whatever you can get, all things considered ;)

Not the value range as thats just false economy :money:

I buy from my local discount store, 4 for £1 in a plastic carrier bag. I believe they are M&S ones which have been slightly miss-cut, or the colour changes half way through the roll, or some such. But they are great, so I guess M&S would be my choice, if I could afford them! Until then, my 'seconds' will do fine.

I have one of these shops just around the corner, same price for 'no brand' but decent loo roll. :)

I always go for whats on offer. I have no brand preference, as long as its good quality, and well priced.

    I've been Money Tipped!
Try 'Nicky' toilet rolls from Home Bargains, B & M, Farm Foods, Heron etc.

They are £1 for 4 or £1.02 for 9 (just gone up, they wre £1.99 for 9).

My mother in law is a bit of a loo roll snob and always used to buy Andrex because it was the most expensive, she could afford it and she thought it was the best.

I have converted her to Nicky, it is far better than Andrex.

Give it a try if you can find it, you won't go back to Andrex.
