At least this way you dont get ripped off by councils who install cash machines that don't give change. Even at 10p per car this worked out at tens of thousands of pounds for some councils.IT Consultant in the utilities industry specialising in the retail electricity market.

I have very big security concerns about texting a random number on my phone all my credit card details?
How can I be assured the sign put up is real and not fake?
I refuse to pay by phone - If there is a coin operated machine, I will pay for it. If not, let them fine me and take me all the way through the courts for not using my mobile phone!0 -

There is no texting involved except the reminders they send you when your time is expiring. You phone them and its an automated system or you can speak to a real person if you want.0 -
I too worry about this, it has been shown on the real hustle that it can be/is done, also i don't want yet another organisation to have all my details stored ready to be stolen, cash in a parking meter/pay n display machine is simple enough and anonymous. No change go to shop and get some or do like me and always keep a small amout of low denomination coins in the car for this purpose (out of sight obviously as someone WILL break your window for the £2 or so in 10s and 20s)I have very big security concerns about texting a random number on my phone all my credit card details?
