Microsoft office - second hand

With regard to my second question, the problem I experience is that shortly after I begin watching a programme on certain channels such as Demand 5 or ITV, my laptop begins to make a soft but continuing sound, as if it were attempting to open up or download a programme, shortly before it completely switches off. I find this rather odd, as it only ever seems to occur on the same channels, the BBC iPlayer runs perfectly smoothly.
Not too sure why some channels are unaffected, but it sounds like the lappy is overheating, and shutting down to prevent damage.
Please ensure the machine is used either on a clean, solid surface, or placed upon something allowing adequate airflow underneath the unit...I use one of these

M$ tend to go after retailers punting 2nd hand copies of microsoft office as it is against the T&C's but its not against the law so these are your best bet. Just make sure it is a real copy and not a pirated copy.
Thanks for your help, shall keep an eye out.0 -

You're right, it's definitely over heating, but I still can't understand why it only happens with certain channels and not others (all of the time). I shall change the surface that I work from, and see if that makes any difference.
Thanks again for your help, it's appreciated.0 -
Nope, it's office live, it works just like office except all of your documents are stored in your online account (I think you have about 8gb worth of space). You can of course download any document you like to your own machine whenever you like. I use it all the time on my netbook rather than having to faff around with my open office (and was a real life-saver when I needed to finish a presentation).
Thanks for that, really useful to know. Shall take a look.
Many thanks0 -

Sorry if this is a silly question, but are your documents safe? and can you save the documents to your hard drive?
Yes (well as save as you make your MSN account password) and Yes. At any stage, you can download them to your hard-drive. Also if you later get office, you'll see that there is now a tab for "Save to office live" so you could be working on a document at home on office, save it to your online account and carry on from there.0 -

Excellent. I've had a quick look, I think that will certainly do the trick until I buy Office.
Thanks again for the info.0
