Was shocked to realise 25% of the year has gone by!! I am just like you (and most other people) by counting the days until pay day, can never come soon enough. You will soon be able to tick off one of your pretty £ !
Hope the baby making was fun

No baby making yet as I've been working late shifts (13 hours yesterday!).... maybe tomorrow when I've caught up on sleep :rotfl:
And yes, I'm looking forward to crossing off a '£' :j:T:beer:
As a result of hubby and I having such long hours at work recently I've gone a bit over board with the grocery budget this week at £40:o This is a result of not meal planning, shopping when hungry and at midnight after I'd finished work.
Oh well... I'll just count the few treats in our pocket money.
Been looking into courses a bit more and found a brilliant one that's well recognised in the industry, but unfortunately it costs £800
Talk about 'It takes money to make money'. Not sure what to do. If I'm going to do anything to make my CV look better for August 2012 I need to be starting it now as this course takes a year to complete, so it would mean adding to my debt. No time to save up.
Grrrrrrr.... I just need to win the frigg*n lottery!
Oh, and the sink is still blocked despite all the stuff I've poured down it to clear it  Hubby is saying we need to get someone out to clear it, but I'm gonna ask my dad first.... dad's know about this kind of thing

Hi DB, Hope the sink is unblocked ? No wonder you are too tired for baby making after 13 hour shift, i know after my night shifts i just want to sleep for a week.
Have you reached a decision about your course? I too am looking forward to you crossing through your pretty £ , it will make a nice pattern too

Been away at the in-laws this weekend so not managed to update.
Got dad round to look at the drain on thursday and he fixed it for us :T He took out one of the pipes in the end and it was FULL of gunk which is probably why the plug hole unblocker stuff had no chance of clearing it.
Since we were round at in-laws all weekend it did me we were fed for free :j but it did cost us £25 in petrol for the round trip.
Other spends over the past few days have been £2.50 on 3 mp3 song downloads from amazon and £7 (£7!) on a hat for LO. If I was being properly :money: I would have just got something for a quid off ebay, but it was on that really sunny day we had before the weekend and it is Peppa pig :rotfl: I swear my daughter loves peppa pig more than me!
Next week we're off on holiday with my parents down to devon, so I'm hoping for some more sunshine so we get our £7's worth out of the hat
Oh, all our pay has gone in for the money too including hubby's over time :T so I've spent some time figuring out what our new totals are for the accounts. Taking into account all the direct debits and regular spends for this month, and budgeting £250 for the holiday our new totals are..... *drum roll*....:

If you add on the £1200 tax bill that appeared on our door step at the end of January we started with a debt of just over £25k and have paid back about £4k of this :T
I've updated and altered my signature a little bit (this way I get to cross off '£'s more often and it isn't quite so disheartening) :rotfl:
Hope you all had a lovely weekend and the weather has been treating you well

well done on all the debt busting DB :T You've done really well ..so does each £ sign in your signature represent 1K of debt now (sorry still too early for me:o lol)
My DD is also Peppa Pig mad! But i have to admit i quite like it too
it has me in stitches sometimes watching it....peppa & george remind me of my DD & DS :rotfl:they also LOVE Ben & Holly's Little Kingdom ....which i quite like too ...
my oldest DS used to love teletubbies & scooby doo, Bob the builder & thomas tank so i'm glad they like something different i think i still remember the theme tunes from all of those shows `:rotfl:
anyway i've digressed....was going to say that even if you go to A$da or Te$co you end up paying a small fortune on the clothes that have brands on such as Peppa or Dora!! Extortion! They must realise that these small people will get their own way no matter what the price to us! :rotfl:
I can't wait for next week either! So am wishing this one away !! I hope you have a lovely time in Devon will it be :money: or will the debt busting go out the window for the week

Hey DFW, Yeah, 1 '£' is 1K so quicker to cross them off
Peppa Pig drives me CRAZY most of the time! It's just about boring everyday stuff like the car breaking down, going to the park, going recycling... thats probably why kids relate to it so well. There is an episode where they go to a fair though and everyone keeps telling mummy pig she can't win anything since she's a woman and Peppa ends up with millions of teddy prizes :rotfl: Go womens lib! :T My OH says the people who made Peppa pig must be living in a gold plated house. I think he's right.
Had a bit of an epic fail yesterday
OH and I went out for a curry since it was my last day in my old job and LO was at my parents... ended up spending £60 :doh:Oops.
Nevermind. We'll just have to have a very :money:holiday
.
As I've said, my parents are paying for the accommodation and insist they don't want anything from us since there not paying any extra for us being there. So, I've budgeted £250 for everything else which includes the £100 in petrol it'll probably cost to drive down there and back, and we'll put £50 in for the food which leaves £100 for entertainment.
It's strange... when I think about spending £100 on something it seems like a fortune now, but ultimately what would it buy us nowadays?
2 tickets to get into a zoo/seal sanctuary/animal park - probably £30
Food and drinks while there for OH, me and LO - £20
Souvenir - £15
Ice creams - £5
Thats £70 on one fairly average day out for the 3 of us!
Lets pray for some nice weather and cheap days on the beach with a home made picnic :T I'm also pretty sure I can rustle up some BOGOF vouchers for the attractions down there since it's off season.
We haven't even been on this holiday yet and we've already got our next one planned :rotfl: I don't sound like someone in debt do I?
OH's parents this time. They have booked a villa in Portugal for 3 weeks and invited us over for a week. :j Thats not till September though so we've got time to save for the flights.
Wow... we seem like a real charity case
Not much else to say really. Can't wait till next pay day since I'll be getting my pay raise then! :j Should mean my pay goes from £1500 to £1700, but I don't know exact amounts yet. That's got to be worth my celebratory curry, right? :rotfl:

Today I had my LBM... for clutter.
I literally had NO space ANYWHERE in my house.
Cupboards - Full, drawers - full, boxes - full, wardrobes - full, under the bed - full... it's depressing! And it's not like it's useful stuff or Cash-in-the-attic style treasures, it's just tat I've accumulated over the years and not thrown out because for SOME reason I think it's easier to put it in a box.
We only have a tiny house that was originally 1 bed but the people who had it before us converted the attic to make a second bedroom, so we don't even have attic space! There is a basement which is where the door to the back garden is, but it's just full of rubbish so we don't enjoy the garden as much as we should
So I've had enough. I've officially started my spring clean and have about 5 bin bags full of stuff to go down the charity shop or to the tip, and that's just from our bedroom and the kitchen! Also found a few bits I can sell when I get my @ss back in gear for ebay.
It's strange, but the house feels.... lighter some how... since all that rubbish has left it :rotfl:
I'm being really ruthless as I sort through stuff, with the attitude of 'If I don't love it or need it I'm getting rid of it'.
This house will be a picture of zen minimalism when I'm done
Hope everyone's looking forward to the weekend. Not long to go.

Hi DB,
Glad to see you are doing well with the debt busting. I love playing with the snowball too. Unfotunately for DH and I there's no chance of paid overtime so it's just a case of paying off what we can when we can.
With your big clearout can you do a carboot? (Without being tempted to buy too much
) DH and I are planning on one this year and I'm stashing all sorts ready.

well done on the de-cluttering i had a similar LBM just after i started on my debt-busting route...have nearly run out of things to sell on ebay now though lol, and one thing i won't sell or throw out is books & dvd's so i doubt my house will ever be zen minimilist (although must be nice to have one of those houses lol) but still you can move around it now...we have a 3 bed (with 5 people in) , but it's a small terraced 3 bed, the box room is a box lmao and the 2 bigger rooms are only just big enough for a double & one cupboard (cheap skate army lol) so i know how you feel! And our garden is also small....but we've still managed to stuff it full of garden toys for the lil ones haha...!
I hope you had a lovely weekend...me personally i was wishing it away as i was looking forward to today

Hi DB,
Your decluttering sounds like it went well! I think I need to start a spring clean too.
Hope the debt-busting and the baby-making is going equally as well
