I've completed the back piece now :T Go me. And I'm just about the start on the front bits, but I'm not sure if I need to leave any length of wool left with the front bit when I cut it off.... maybe kind and clever soarsie will come by and help me soon or I could just pester her with a pm

Shucks *blushes*
Not sure what you mean sweetie ~ can you tell me what the pattern says please?

Pattern says:
"Work straight until back measures 26cm from cast on edge, ending with WS row. Next row K47, cast off next 40 stitches, knit to end. Leave these two sets of stitches on holders"
I've done that but haven't cut the ball of wool off yet.
The next bit says:
"Left front: With 3.25mm needles cast on 36 sts. Work in garter stitch until front measures 14cm from cast on edge, ending with WS row...."
...and it goes on to say how to complete the front sections.
At the end it says:
"To make up: Left shoulder - Place stitches on two needles with points facing the cuff edge, then with wrong sides facing knitting one stitch from each needle together cast off 14 stitches..." and so on.
...but I can't figure out if I need to leave a length of wool on the separate sections to use to connect it all together... does that make sense? :undecided

Was that comment aimed at me....don't go buying anything i wouldn't haha cos if it was it was spot on :rotfl:. I am so bad

Aaaah gotcha ~ I think what it's saying is that instead of stitching the shoulders together, you will be joining them by casting them off together. Soooooooo bearing that in mind, just leave enough wool on the back to complete this casting off bit (roll it into a little hank or round some card board so it doesn't get taffled) and then cut the rest off. You may not even need to use this bit if it tells you to cast off with the wool you've used to knit the left and right front but better to be on the safe side!
Hope this helps

Thank you Soarsie! :j I can get on with it now, though I am working this weekend so doubt I'll get much done until next week
Hey DFW, Yeah, you bought quite a lot at the start of the month but I bet you get a great nights sleep now! :rotfl: Plus that was extra bonus money so it's not like it got you further into debt or anything. BTW, I like to have a proper nosey around other peoples diaries and come across your posts all over the place on here :rotfl: Surely we should have something better to do, but at least we're not spending money when we're on here
Hmm... my sig is a bit confusing at the moment, but I'm hoping its bit clearer once I start ticking off the '£'s :T .... at the moment it just looks pretty
So, today I should have been at work but LO has the trots so nursery not too keen to have her. She's fine in herself and I think it's just teething, as someone mentioned before.
While she's asleep I've been dusting off my CV and thinking about what to do to spruce it up a bit. I've been on a kind of training programme since leaving uni so haven't really needed a CV for ages, but that ends in August next year and I'm worried already!
The problem is that the kind of things that are going to look best on my CV are extra training, diplomas etc and exams.... all of which cost big time
I even looked at open university course and they are waaaaaaaay too much for me. I've already got £2000 worth of exams lined up for later this year (that price is just for the pleasure of taking the !!!!!!!' exam! Not even any training!) so really anything else I do has to be free. :money:
I've had a nose around the forum and found a link to this site, where it looks like I can get free online courses:
http://alison.com/course/category.php?id=25
:T
Anything kind of managerial, IT, business type, legal would be great, so I'll keep looking

DFW, Yeah I think all the courses are free but one way they seem to make money is by charging for sending you the certificate at the end and they don't even say how much it'll be :undecided Though they stress that you still have the qualification even if you don't want to pay for the certificate... pfft.... yeah right... "Please trust me Mr. Employer... I have these qualification, just no way of proving it"
So Rachel, since you posted that at 2pm I'm guessing work was a bit slow :rotfl:
Hey MC, I put a lot of time in to making my sig (time I should have spent cleaning)
I think it helps me psychologically if I can tick things off and since I'm including my mortgage on it it sounds great when I say 'I paid £2000 off my debt this month'
I can't believe it'll be pay day again in 11 days time and then that's 25% of the year gone!!! I can't believe it's gone so fast. I sometimes feel like I'm wishing time away till the next pay day so I can get stuff paid off and it's a bit scary how quickly the months go by... my exams are at the end of the year (October and November) and in my head I'm thinking it's ages away.... but actually... I better start revising soon!
I'm going to have a nose through your diaries and then I'm going to sit down and fill in this expenses form and get it sent off to see if they'll refund anything.
Oh... and I think we'll start proper baby making tonight
