    Thanks guys :D

However..... after all that, I did go out and spend £30 today :o

I do feel it was justified though! Got 2 pairs of trousers and a cardigan for LO in ASDA George sale as well as some knickers for when she needs them. Got 2 bags of half price cookies at 48p each....:EasterBun

... and a pair of sunglasses for LO.... not needed but I've promised her for ages that I'd get her her own pair of glasses like mum and dad have.

We then went to Costco (the wholesalers) and got some proper bargins. 1.2kg of cheese for £4.50, a massive tub of mixed herbs for £1.20ish, an equally massive tub of curry powder for £2 and a 6 pack of muller corner yoghurts for £1.... all of which I thought were pretty awesome deals, and quite frankly, I couldn't afford -not- to buy them :D

I'm worried I may fall off the wagon big style tomorrow though
I've got to go to work for a couple of hours in the morning and then I've got a meeting at 2:30 in the afternoon.... and the 3 or so hours inbetween I'm going to be stuck in town with nothing to do so I'm contemplating getting my hair cut. Problem is my usual hairdressers I go to costs £40 a time :(

Must not spend..... must..... not..... spend.....

  • Hi DB,
Thanks for dipping into my diary, your reply made me nose into yours. I am VERY impressed with how organised you are with your meals, i do use my slow cooker twice a week but never think to make in bulk & freeze. I am going to do this in future as i work nights & would benefit from being so organised.

Well done on your trip to Costco, you snapped up some great bargains. Keep strong tomorrow re your worry over spending, leave debit/ credit cards at home, then you cannot be tempted! ;)

Hi MC and abba  Thanks for popping in and I apologise in advance for some of the rubbish I put in here :rotfl:

Hey DFW, I clung onto the wagon with my finger tips :rotfl:

I did have to spend £4.50 on a little present, card and wrapping paper for a party LO had at nursery today, BUT I didn't get my hair cut and as my meeting was rearranged for later in the day I just came home instead of going into town. :T

My usual hair dressers will cut my fringe for me for free, so I could do that OR I could do what one of you girls did (was it rachel?) and go to the 'old ladies' hair dressers down the road which will probably be a lot cheaper..... but I don't want to come out looking like an old lady :rotfl: ....maybe I'll just grow my hair for a bit!

Had a meeting with my manager today to sort out my reference, which he's actually made sound really good... and I thought he didn't like me :p

    Roll on pay rise!!!!

Forgot to say I went to my first car boot sale of the season last Sunday :j I LOVE them.

Spent £1 on a big 20 piece floor puzzle of a train for LO, £1 on a wooden numbers puzzle and I haggled to get a Julia Donaldson book in for free :D

Car boots are my Achilles heal!

Ok, it's only 9am, so not much happening money wise so far today but because my shifts are a bit weird this week I have the day off and LO is in nursery so I'm all on my own for the day! Bliss! :rotfl:

Desperately need to give the good house a clean so it's not really a day off, but I've decided to have a bit mess with my knitting before I get stuck in.

I've completed the back piece now :T Go me. And I'm just about the start on the front bits, but I'm not sure if I need to leave any length of wool left with the front bit when I cut it off.... maybe kind and clever soarsie will come by and help me soon or I could just pester her with a pm :D

Today isn't going to be a NSD though, as I have to go and get some plug hole unblocker  Our sinks and shower drains ALWAYS seem to be clogging up! I usually leave it as long as I can but now when the dishwasher empties it's self it's coming back in the sink so I think I better get off my !!! and sort it :o

I'll no doubt be back on here shortly when I get board of cleaning, so see you all soon! Don't buy anything I wouldn't buy! :p

    Mar 16 cont.

Well maybe today will be a NSD after all.... since I left my wallet in my coat which is in the car.... which OH has today. DOH!

But I've finished cleaning the living room and kitchen and I'm about to start on the bathroom, plus I've looked into claiming back some of the expenses from my London trip with work. To get my train fare back they want my train tickets, which I don't think I have any more sadly, but I may be able to get £105 back from the hotel room :T Just need to fill in the forms now and will see what happens I guess. Wasn't expecting any money from them so anything would be a bonus.

I was delaying doing any more house work earlier so had a play on the snowball and worked out I can be entirely debt free in 70 months :rotfl: W00T!... still sounds like a long way off!

    That's about £165K including mortgage.

So to keep me motivated I've made this ----v

    £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £
    :( £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £ :(
    :) £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £ :)
    :D £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £ :D

Every '£' represents £2k in my total debt, so every time I pay off that amount, including to mortgage, I can cross one off :T

I'm going to put this in my signature and THEN I will get cleaning :rotfl:
