Now I've got to decide whether to say anything to him or not.
I would definitely not say anything. He might use some excuse to sack you or even say it was you using the computer inappropriately. As no-one else uses the computer he could get away with that. If he's looking at child pornography you should inform the police. I hope you find a new job very soon.

Download firefox 2.0 and use that as your default browser. Leave him to internet explorer.

    >Its making me nervous.<

Keep records, date/time of what your boss left you exposed to on the PC etc. Then lodge a sexual harassment claim, how this left you traumatised, scared to be working alone with pervert etc. Compo will be yours!

The new IE7 has been added as an update... When this is installed you can install addons and one of them includes parental controls so he need never know another program has been installed and just think its an IE thing. Just update the comp when you can
  • i think if he is a perv you should leave.the computer belongs to him and if by installing anything you accidently deleted anything important it could be you being fired and or sued.if what he was searching for was nasty but also not illegal dont think you would have much to go on.i certainly would not recommend installing anything on a computer you do not own.that is asking for trouble as i have net nanny installed on my 10 year olds laptop and the stuff that gets banned along with the stuff i dont want her to have access to is frankly silly.she couldnt look for david esSEX or anything in middleSEX,TITus bramble the footballer.and many others, but it will also pop up saying net nanny has stopped access to this site/search see your sys admin.so he probably would know he was being blocked.as one poster said just bring it up in conversation that you think you have been hit by a virus clogging things up with pron and hopefully he will be embarrassed into changing.good luck.

Too right - we don't want to encourage that kind of behaviour from our children ;)

Do you have a seperate logon for the computer? If not, get one now otherwise it could easily be blamed on you....

he doesnt have a night time cleaner does he?
or let his teenage sons use the comp out of hours
or have his friends in after work and the pub and let them use it?
If it was me ,I would ask him to please not leave his trail of internet surfing when he is finished with the PC but not even mention the pron ,just the evidence .
Then if it still occurs ,wouldn't that be very close to sexual harrassment?
