Yup. well spotted...LOl0 -
Sometimes, despite the fact that the paws are being licked, it can be a problem further up the leg. Just a thought!0

My dog has been dragging her backside, and today in particular has been attacking her feet, I only mentioned to OH about an hour ago, and said I thought she needs her glands emptied and while I'm there I will ask the vet about her feet, sounds like it is the same thing though, thanks for the OP, and the link

Jakie her anal glands will be sorted if you give her dried food for a bit, and the paw biting is often a sign of stress, unless they are simply cleaning themselves:D:Djackieglasgow wrote: »My dog has been dragging her backside, and today in particular has been attacking her feet, I only mentioned to OH about an hour ago, and said I thought she needs her glands emptied and while I'm there I will ask the vet about her feet, sounds like it is the same thing though, thanks for the OP, and the link

I have been turning Zara upside down for 3 days now, to see if I can spot/feel anything between her pads/toes - nothing.
Put some Sudacream (spelling?) on as this can not hurt, she stopped licking/chewing - she loves having cream on her paws, she is a girl after all......
Run my fingers all over her, not a single spot anywhere on her skin. Can not be anal glands as when this happens we SMELL it, neighbours smell it, people 100 metres away smell it....
Will see how it goes....0 -
A cat claw can do that. Where they go in the skin like a needle, they can itch like mad - even once it's been retracted.
And, as I wouldn't want someone convicted without a trial
, the little darlings do have a habit of leaving old claw sheaths in the rugs for unsuspecting barefoot owners and dogs to find. 0 -
Have you used any thing like 'shake & vac' on yer carpet or maybe she has been in someones house who's used something similar?0

I'd always want to find out what the problem is a symptom of. It is is just a habit then trying to crack it is fine, because undealt with it can cause issues of its own. Other things that have instigated paw licking in our dog-household have included bone cancer and fractures not causing a limp. Things we want to spot and treat early! Its NOT necessarily where they are licking that's a problem. A way to think of it to understand this might be like thinking of it like a sore or upset child thumbsucking for comfort.0
