I have just recently bought a bare escentuals kit and really love it- it stays on and looks natural once you get the knack of not using too much powder...my skin isn't really oily, but I do get spots (I am sure I am too old for them!) and the kit has a concealer as well which works. I think Debenhams has a special offer at the moment, and will show you how to use it, but Amazon sells it cheaper.

I am a big fan of the mineral powder you layer on and it feels like your not wearing any. I normally just put a very light foundation on (my daughter has used all mine up i need to buy more!) and then use
http://www.eyeslipsface.co.uk/product~prodID~82.htm which is really cheap and cheerful. You put it on and layer then it looks a little powdery but within half an hour its all soaked into your natural oils/foundation and looks fab. As i dont' wear make up at all usually when i do i usually get complements on how good my skin looks and what do i use.

just heard i won £27 http://www.eyeslipsface.co.uk/product.asp?prodID=78 so i am treating myself to this :) i think its a good price for all that.

If you can get to a clinique counter they are very good, they assess your skin and offer advice on how to stay looking perfect as they are more about the treatment products than the makeup.

I love Clinique foundation, I have used it for a few years now and really find it is consistently good! I use the superbalance foundation and its in the region of £20 but for this price it lasts for nearly 6 months and that is with daily use!
  • I use first light cosmetics mineral makeup, its the same quality as bare esentials ( i actually prefer it as it gives a better coverage) and is cheaper http://www.firstlightcosmetics.co.uk

I got a few sample of this a while back, but have only tried the blusher (which is gorege BTW - I'm going to buy it for my wedding makeup.)

I'll test out the other samples!

One thing to check is about the light reflecting thingy side of them. That's often a selling point but the downside to that is that it can bounce back and look shiny when you have photos taken....and as it's for your wedding there's a fair chance you'll have the odd photo being done so be careful to check out your foundation will cope with that

Good point. Also avoid anything with UV protection for the same reason. Miss Chievous has a great youtube tutorial called something like Foundation 101 which goes through all the different types of foundation.
