Wedding Shoes: Traditional or Trendy?

  • I'm not a girlie girl, and really only own trainers and boots, so 'proper' wedding shoes are just so not me. There is no way I'm spending our wedding day in shoes that would cripple my feet either, it's a long day and you will be standing a lot, so comfy shoes were a must too.
These are my shoes21158_WHT.jpg and I love them, was worth the hassel getting them. They are trainers but a bit weddingy, bit of a heel, comfy and they are going on honeymoon with us afterwards so I can use them again and get my money worth (very mse!)

Thank you, I like them a lot too :D. Couldn't get them in white over here, so had to order them from America (actually only cost £3 more than buying them in another colour over here) but was worth it. Keep looking at them, but oh keeps telling me to stop looking at them as I will look them away, lol.

Joho, what's your dress like? They are very casual, I'm not convinced they'd look right...

Birdie85 - this is my dress (or very, very similar as I haven't been able to establish who the designer is!). I'm thinking the shoes are too casual - oh, but the comfort!!! Sob. :( And I could always bling them up with a brooch or something?!
If you have nothing constructive to say just move along.

    That dress is sooo stunning!

I'm with Birdie I'm afraid, it's the cork effect that I'm not fussed on, not to go with a gorgeous dress like that. Sorry! :o

I've just ordered these to see whether they might be a sensible back-up / day shoe:

I really want wedges or a thick heel as stilletos wont be suitable on grass, but it's quite hard finding weddingy wedges!

Oh they're different aren't they! Never seen any 'bridal' style shoes in a wedge before but I think they're lovely! If you want wedges, they would be perfect!

I hate buying shoes at the best of times so the whole wedding shoe thing is doing my head in! My dress will be silver, a darker more pewtery shade, not dead pale but my colour scheme is centred round purple. I have a pair of New Look shoes that I love to bits, purple sparkly ones that sort of turn turquoisey in places in different light...sounds weird but they're ace really! I would love to wear them but they have a 5" stiletto heel and I just couldnt wander round the zoo in them.
I've looked everywhere for silver shoes that aren't too pale, too blingy and found these satin ones in BHS. At the moment they're the most likely I've seen but I have other shopping trips planned. I thought I may wear the purple ones in the evening but it depends on the dress length as that'll be made to go with the lower ones.
I'd love to go a bit funkier all day but would like not to be crippled within an hour!!
