Hi all
Well were now 5 weeks away to our wedding, and Im not having a happy time..I should be happy- cos everythings under control, and pretty much sorted... but I feel really worked up. Im so terrified about being centre of attention, being filmed, having my pics took, having people comment on me..I just want to hide.
Had hair & makeup trial this morning and it didnt go well- so my confidence has been knocked. I could do with finding someone else but its a bit short notice and id loose my deposit.
Just curled up in OH arms earlier and when he asked what was wrong I couldnt answer...it was just a big build up of everything. I want to be his wife, so much, but Im finding all this wedding stuff difficult...its turned into an event about everyone else. Wishing id had a simple ceremony with a few witnesses and ran off on a big honeymoon instead
Sorry to present you with all my woes but I needed to let off steam!!0 -
Oh AutumnBride, I'm so sorry you're feeling like this. If you want to find another MUA/hairdresser then do it, your deposit isn't much in the grand scheme of feeling confident on your wedding day. If not, could you talk to the lady who did it and have another trial? I suspect that if you can bottom this issue out & be happy that you're going to look a million dollars, you'll start feeling a bit better about the day, I know I did. In the meantime, have a dodgy hug :grouphug:0

4 weeks today for me, but for you 1st Sept brides it's only 2
I've had a productive day:
I dropped my engagement ring off at the jewellers to be cleaned and polished and they gave me 20% off!! I used to work there, but it was well over 5 years ago whilst I was still at uni, and I didn't expect anything off the cost, I just knew I could trust them, but the assistant manager remembered meFeels very strange not wearing it though!
I then went to the Chanel counter as I wasn't happy with the powder I'd bought at my trial, and they swapped it for a different product for only the difference in price (£4.50), even though I bought the original about 2 months ago and had used it a fair bit - excellent customer service
I also bought my earrings (£15 from Debenhams), potted up the herb centrepieces & lollipop bay trees into their final pots, ordered the organza bags to pop my bath bomb favours and finalised the details of my cake with my best friend who is very kindly making it.
Still To Do:
Write out place name cards for the wedding breakfast
Make the seed matchbook favours for the wedding breakfast
Pop the bath bomb favours for the reception into organza bags & make little labels to go with them
Confirm final numbers
Sort out how to display table names
Finalise table plan
Assemble table centrepieces
Make pompoms
Make table plan
Get ceremony music onto disk/iPod
Arrange to collect dress from seamstress0 -

Basically I had to cut my hen do short to deal with the probs with the wedding venue. I knew something was very wrong when we got in there today. The guy we were supposed to seeing didn't meat us, i asked where he was and was toild he was coming. We finally met him so I asked where the manager was and was told he left.
Cut a long story short he did nothing beyond take my money:mad::mad::mad: it turned out he hadn't even booked for our wedding to take place in 13 days time, they thought we were getting married somewhere else. Iv'e ben trying to sort things out for ages with them and finally got to met them today, he said they have been trying to force the manger out for months and finally managed to a week ago.I couldnt hold back the tears as i knew then they we were in deep s*it and we had to start again with 13 days to go.
I feel so angry and cheated:mad::mad::mad: hes not the person i thought and did nothing, they knew months ago that the manager did nothing. The wedding before us is touch and go.If they hadn't have got rid of the manager we wouldn't have had a wedding at all and now i have so much to do.
Due to the manager not doing anything we've lost 4 hrs of setting up time time as the rooms have been booked out that we need to set up in so we have to set up in the lobby.
Sorry for the rant.0 -
Massive hugs PM.
What have the venue said you can still do there? And what do you need to organise in the next two weeks? List it out and 1) it won't feel AS overwhelming as just saying "everything needs sorting", and 2) we'll help where we can xxx0 -

My oh doesn't get any time off so its all going to be down to me to sort out, i thought we were largly on top of things and had detialed lists but thats all changed now.So much stress now right up to the big day

Morning Ladies,
3 weeks today for me:j:j
Nene, the sexy photo sounds a great gift for your OH, i'm sure he will love it:D Glad the makeup trail when well.
Tilly, hope your bestman sorts himself out & you get his suit sorted, not what you need. The cake sounds like it going well too:j
Autumn Bride, really sorr to hear of the hair & makeup problems, I did read your other post, hope you get sorted.
Roz - wow that was really good of the Chenel to swap your makeup:jYou have reminded me that I must get my engagement ring cleaned too.
Partmouse, so sorry to hear of your troubles with the venue:( Hope you can get it all sorted without too much stress.
We had a good weekend, I picked my dress up & it fit beautifully. It was the 1st time i'd seen it finish & it lovely, my Mum got all teary at the dressmakers. So so pleased with it. The dress is now safely hanging in it's bag with our friends next door who are coming with us, so H2B won't be tempted to peek! My Mum took a couple of photos so I'll post them tonight for you to have a look.
We also ordered our name cards, so just waiting for them to be printed but should be here in the next few days they said. So glad i've ordered them now, they were £10 for 20 only need 17 personiling but not bad & I found ones that had orange gerbera on so fits our colour & matches my flowers. I'm getting so excited now, are you guys? I hate been at work as just want to be at home looking at wedding things & it's so quite as loads of people are on holiday.
