Oh. Not good then. Could still try, if you don't ask you don't get!

I think this is down to ebookers to sort, they made the booking.

When I had a flight, hotel and cruise packaged by a travel agent, the travel agent clearly told me that it wasn't a package under the Package Travel Regulations, but that they would be responsible if any part of it went wrong.

Another time I had a flight change with a United flight booked with Netflights. United were willing to change the flights I was offered to other times I preferred, but they couldn't as it was booked with an agent. I had to get the agent to change it and that was a major problem and took several phone calls over a couple of days before I found an advisor who would help.

It may be worth calling ebookers and hopefully getting someone more willing to sort it out.

** Edit - this is assuming it is all booked on a through ticket with ebookers and not 2 separate flight bookings.

Thank you - I was wracking my brain trying to remember who the 3rd party was you had this issue with - I remember it being a nightmare for you and it's one of the reasons I shy away from booking flights via a 3rd party. :)

Yep, I really prefer to book direct with an airline rather than an agent, but the price difference was almost £200 per person so the agent won.
  • well, if you can't take virgin to las vegas, but you already have a ba flight booked. Why don't you try to get your money back from ebookers and book a flight with ba from gatwick to las vegas?

    Hi

If you had a package booked with Virgin Hols you would of been offered to cancel the holiday or move the dates

Im guessing you have booked your BA flights direct? If you have done this your responsible for these not ebookers, they may have gave you the option to cancel the Virgin flights and be refunded but the only other carrier you could look at direct would be BA and chancing flying with BA with the strike talks isnt the best idea and of course the fare maybe more than originally paid with Virgin.

As the guys have said above they do tend to merge flights

If anyone has any questions about Virgin just give me a shout, I guess some of you know already who I now work for I will try and answer any questions you all have

    Thanks

to the OP...try to think of it this way...while it sucks, and while it's a special birthday and you don't want a special birthday to suck...at least you know now rather than when you rock up at the airport to check in...I know it's a small consolation - but it's what I'm going with should it happen to us.

Ultimately, you are still going to Vegas! For your 40th! I am exceptionally jealous as I did not go for mine (nor my hubby for his as it would have been unfair since I didn't get to go for mine :))

I'll now be obsessively checking Virgin's site and v-flyer...we stand to lose a fairly expensive hotel stay the night before our flights (non-refundable, non-changeable) unless we can convince the hotel to let us move the date (doubtful), should this happen to us...but at least we'll be prepared for it.

And ultimately, we're going to Vegas! ;)
