mobile phone exchange

I upgraded my phone in october 2010, is it possible to exchange my phone but still keep the same contract?

    You can buy any phone you like and put your sim in it.

    The network won't give you a new one until close to the end of your current contract. Part of the cost goes to cover the 'free' phone they give you, so until that's paid off you won't get another one.

    Might they give me another battery for the same phone while I'm in contract? My current one only seems to charge to five of the eight bars (Nokia E63). I've tried with three different charges and nine times out of ten this happens. Very occasionally I can get a full charge but it's getting annoying.
