How Profitable is Bee production?

Is there anyone in the house who is into this business?

I have read some articles on this business but still need to get advice from people that Knows.

    There are lots of scams in all sorts of businesses so my advice is make sure you don't get stung.

    Can't think of a joke so here is a more serious reply.

    Are you a bee keeper yourself? From your post it sounds as if you are not and getting experience would be essential before considering this. It is not called bee KEEPING for nothing!

    It is also not clear what you are proposing - selling honey, queen breeding, selling nucs? However, whatever it is, there are many problems in bee keeping with varroa, colonies collapsing over the winter and even with lots of experience is not to be taken lightly.

    1) I am not a bee keeper

    2) I have been to their forum(as a guest though!). From there, i knew a number of courses is to be done. I dont mind that.

    I thought probably a MSE folks might be in it.

    There probably are be keepers on these forums but they might not read the Small Business section much.

    Maybe more of a lifestyle thing or the pet section perhaps.

    Not much opportunity to hive off profits, and always the chance you'll get caught in a honey-pot trap. However bee-keepers will wax lyrical about the buzz they get from their hobby.:cool:
