Just to clarify, I think that it isn't really your national insurance contributions which are the pertinent point - because even someone who has never made any contributions in their entire life can claim things like incapacity benefit -
Incapacity Benefit was contributions based, so NICs are very pertinent.0 -

I am sorry, I have not put enough detail in my original post.
I have always worked and the period that they are saying about is when I was ill and off work but DID NOT claim any benefits.
My sickness money from work ran out because I was too ill to return to work before it stopped.mrs tooti-frooti0
