The emails I receive are more picky. The emails come to one email address I have registered with totaljobs, usually in batches of 3. They say they are looking for someone who can handle sales of 'luxury goods' with discretion - and whatever else may be involved- and is majorly commission based. Must be good with internet applications, online banking and Microsoft Office.

Some days I am tempted, I really am.
• I am a Job Seeker and receive around 30 emails a day from search sites. My CV is available on a number of sites.
However I found this in my Spam inbox and thought it worth sharing.
I deleted the text, but it was from a 'Hiring Manager' for APP Financial Group Pty Ltd in Australia. He had seen my profile and was offering me a job immediately. He even supplied his address (
56 Selwyn St, Merewether NSW 2291) in case I wanted to write to him. The job was checking details of buyers and sellers in different countries and handling payments in different currencies.
I am a compliance expert and can see money laundering a mile off.
Jobseekers hoping for £1500/month plus commission should better watch out!
• I receive spam emails daily, one about Credit Updates and another from the same company about cruises! There is a link to cancel the mailing but I don't want to click on it in case it is a way to hack into my computer. I have put the email addressee on my Blocked Senders list. We have Norton Anti-Virus software so I am surprised this kind of stuff is still getting through. I will have to check my settings.
• Some of these are money laundering ops.

They ask you to 'run' small amounts through your bank account and they pay you a 10% 'commission'

Great way to get a free holiday in HMP Wherever....

Beware
• in response to 'kneeless pete': I received an identical e-mail this morning but with a different address.

My concerns:
1) this smells of money laundering
2) if it is too good to be true, it probably is
3) why would a hiring manager send an email from a non company webaddress (recruitappfg.com) instead of firstname.lastname@companyname.com
4) why would a guy named 'Imdad Khan' get in touch if a 'Mark Cooper' is sending the email?
After some searching on Google:
* 87 Llewllyn street where a company called Merewether Coles Express is based
* According to the Australian Securities and Investments Commision (ASIC.gov.uk) APP Financials Group has been struck off the Corporation register in August 2010. They have also had a 'Notice of cancelation of Australian Financial Secrives Licence' last year.

All in all total poppycock and best to be ignored - don't even reply because then they know it is a 'live' e-mail address and they will sell it on and the problem will on ly get worse.

NSW, 2291, Australia.
Hello,
my name is Mark Cooper and I am APP Financial Group hiring manager. We have found and carefully reviewed your CV, and we would like to consider you for the position of Funds Transfer Administrator within APP Financial Group Pty Ltd.
Key responsibilities
1. Route and input all payment instructions received by mail, fax or electronically in a timely and accurate manner. 2. Control workflow on a daily basis to ensure deadlines are adhered. 3. Monitor and control of required reports. 4. Basic knowledge of online payment systems. 5. Excellent communication skills.
Salary & Benefits
1. You will be paid a basic salary of 1500 GBP per month.
2. You will benefit from the commissions, which are 5-7% of each transaction. Normally the amounts that we process vary from 2,000 GBP to 10,000 GBP, but can go higher on special occasions.
Why we need Funds Transfer Administrators
When buying-selling operations via the Internet are concerned, the buyer and the seller don’t know each other and are placed in different corners of the world. Therefore, it is important both to the buyer and the seller for their transaction to be made safely. Payment security means receiving money concerning the transaction by a reliable, experienced, impartial person - our Funds Transfer Administrator. He will hold all the money until all the terms of the deal are satisfied and only then release them to the intended receiver. Please, visit our web-site for more information.
Having a Funds Transfer Administrator in every country we can quickly transfer funds inside a country without wasting time on the international bank transfers, and continue our rapid growth rather than overwhelming our own bank account with inbound and outbound transactions leading to severe hold times and possible service interruption. It is time that is of significant importance to our clients.
The main task of the Funds Transfer Administrator will be receiving money transactions to any bank account he would like to use for the purposes of this job; and then forwarding these transactions to the next party of the process according to our instructions. Funds Transfer Administrator will be processing approximately 1-2 transactions per week.
If you are ready to proceed, please reply to this e-mail and our hiring manager Imdad Khan will contact you shortly.
Please do not hesitate to contact us if you need more information.
--
Yours Sincerely,
Mark Cooper,
APP Financial Group.

It's a scam and you'll be certain to lose money if you got involved in it.
• It could be an FT100 bank, given the way they carry on now.
• I received an amusing offer of a job today, some of the funnier bits :

We're a expressly widening mixed-channel well set up Engineering corporation seeking for a well made up and tactical someone to pour in our group.

Attention to component is crucial, you will be obligated to be awful all ears and able to work under your own mind.

Please post your CV along with a detailed elaboration about why you feel you would be the needed person for this position.
